Update: New York Jets 2021 Draft Class

Day 1 Prospect

Tucker started at tackle this year and was the best lineman in the Pac-12 there.

Still not better than Jenkins or Darrishaw. Pac 10 is soft and has been for years. Even Leatherwood would have been a better pick. We got Campbell coming back with a year of experience and an offseason workout program.

We got Campbell from last year. We didn't need another guard we needed a right tackle. It was a wasted a pick on an inferior talent.

Campbell?

They have Cameron Clark from last year. Is there a Campbell I'm not remembering?

And with Fant at RT, guard was a bigger need. AVT is a very solid guard prospect. He's athletic enough to play in a zone scheme as a guard, and he has very good feet.

Oh, AVT is both a better prospect and a better fit than either Jenkins or Darrisaw. Sewell and Slater are above him, in part because of positional bias in the draft.

As for Campbell, I'm not sure who you mean. I don't recall the Jets having an offensive lineman with that name.

Day 2, as of now 1 pick

Samuel, Jr? Ojulari? Tyson Campbell?

Who do you like?

If they don't trade down the day is over fast and we can catch the beginning of the Mets game

My guess its a CB like Samuel or Campbell, Edge Olujari or OLB from ND. Can't lie it would be fun to add to the offense with Elijah Moore or a RT. Maybe we recoup a #3 with a trade for Crowder?

I think it depends on what the Jets are looking at for Samuel and Bless Austin. Obviously, Hall is an outside starter. Is Samuel suited for the scheme, or for being a starting outside CB?

My sense is that some teams like Samuel more than the Jets might. It could mean trade down.

They could go OL again, but without any thirds, they might be better suited trading back some and then having a choice of some of the OL who have dropped, like Jenkins, Dickerson, and Humphries. Maybe later, someone like Green. A lot depends on scheme fit and draft flexibility.

Meirenz might be a 3-4 round guy as well

Clark still has a chance to win an OG job but at RG also learned he was practicing mostly on the right side with the 1s

seems a bit early to take any of the CBs who are out there - nice OLBs, some nice OL - but that doesnt seem to be need

wonder whether Jets can trade back with some who lusts for a guy not taken Thursday and add a 3rd or 4th rounder.....

Given the route we have taken (Wilson > Darnold +Pitts) I'm all in with trading up to take a blue chip OL to protect Wilson. It is his attributes that count, not what college he played for. Seems to me there are a lot of guys we could take in the second round, so trading down and getting back into the third round would be good. Or we just 'go nap' and take the best C in the draft,

34th OLB EDGE perfect spot Ojulari UGA
I agree on Ojulari. He could bump them up to a killer pass rush, and with a killer pass rush your secondary is instantly improved.

I hope that at least one of Tylan Wallace, D. Eskridge, or Jaelon Darden is available for us in the 4th round. Darden might be the shiftiest, slitheriest guy I've ever seen, constantly making yards where none appear to be had.
