What to Do….. Fant vs Becton

Fant has been playing very well at LT, so what happens when Becton come back? Fant and Veira Tucker seem to have some chemistry going, so this may become a real issue. I’d like to see Becton at RG and bench GVT….. but doubt that’s going to happen What say ye ?????

correct me if i am wrong, but Fant is the starting RT, and moved over because he can play a swing role.

@Greentilldeath makes an interesting suggestion, though. Moses has been a career mauler in the running game, and to put Mount Becton next to him at RG might be worth seeing...

1.) gets 3 of the best Olinemen on the roster on the field at the same time.
2.) establishes a brutal duo on the natural run side of the line.
3.) could elevate McGovern's play.
4.) Becton might like it, and if he does...that is really cool come contract time.
5.) Fant is young enough to keep for a while.

Fant is a much better athlete so on the pulls, he'd make more sense at RG...IMO.
but i have to admit being intrigued by @Greentilldeath's suggestion, because of the obvious chem between Fant and AVT.

simple answer...GVR is gone! get your best people playing at the same time. #77, #75, #60, #76, #78...done deal.
you're right though...he's going back to LT.

So, get Fant at RG. Moses is a natural RT. Fant is an amoeba who can morph to anything.

Look at the salaries of Left tackles compared to Right Guards. Wont be cool at all come contract time.

I hate to say it but Bledsoe didn't lose his job to the deflator, he got injured. should have been his job to come back to. especially after he came back in the playoffs and won the game

I wondered what would happen when Becton comes back the second he left this time

we have to go with what works best, but if Becton isn't injured, he has to play somewhere based on just his size and draft #. but what if things are going better without him?

@cheaterhater it took AVT a few games to find his stride, now that he is playing the way we hoped he would adding in Becton with his raw power will only enhance that left side...

Fant is a good soldier and will fit in where ever he has to and they will make a role for him especially since he is under contract next year for $10.65 M...

he got injured because AVT lost his block and pushed his guy down to the floor which was at the backside of Becton when he got rolled up on...

Well if you find you don't need Becton, then you get rid of him. Maybe get a high compensatory pick or trade him. With the team the way it is, no job should be safe.

i agree, however, Quinnen shared a bit of that too. IMO, it "might" be a bit of his body not being physically mature enough to transition bulk to muscle, but at the same time, going against players who have already completed that physical maturation process.

with players like Q, Mount Becton...by the time they get to us, they have just stopped or are in the process of stopping their full growth, so their bones are not ready for the baby fat to muscle transformation.

during that time, at the size they are for their frame, they are ripe for the picking for injuries.

I think you're assuming that our GM and other GM's see him as a top flight LT and will see him as such at contract time.
based on the limited amount of time he's been in the league, i don't see any GM offering him $20 million to be out of the line up.

if he gets onto the line at LT or RG, and is the player we think he can be, he can command $20 million at either spot; Thuney did at G, albeit LG.
