Elijah Moore vs Denzel Mims

@gmf1369...can you find the post game of Bart talking about these 2, and post it. he nailed it.
he said Zach cannot find him because he is getting lost in defenders.

I am not hating on Moore. The Dolphins had the "Marks Brothers", and the Redskins had "The Smurfs"...and right now, the Chiefs have Hill. But all of the aforementioned were in offenses that showcased their abilities. IMO, Moore has to be the duel threat guy like Hill to be successful in our offense, because our outside game isn't a real vertical game for him to run past coverages; he is being smothered.

Mims can win the matchups Moore cannot on the outside.

I must be watching different games because I have seen Moore wide open multiple times every game. I could have sworn it was Moore that was all alone in the middle of the field yesterday for an easy TD , Zach was so late on the read he led him 5 yards out of bounds. I remember him being all alone for first downs on a few of Zacks long interceptions too.

both Moore and Wilson can not see over the OL so yes maybe Moore was wide open but if the QB can not see him he won't throw to him...

predetermined route play calls not by the O.C. but by Zach who says he is cycling through his progressions but have to think after week 5 he is predetermining where he wants to go and forces it a bit too much...

aren't the progressions pre-determined by the play? I am not saying that he is not forcing it too often, but he see the defense for the first read before he takes the snap.

case in point, the muffed exchange in the TN game that he hit #82 with anyway. Zach said he knew it was going to be a big gainer and was excited to get the ball so he hurried to get in a position to throw because he knew it would be open.

other examples of him truly making progressions are the deep outs to Keelan (ATL) and Berrios (TN)...those plays couldn't have been the first read; they were outside the timeframe to get the ball out quickly, unless they were designed take that long to develop.

Zach is all flash as he was in college...

Look at his college highlights 9 times out of 10 he was throwing 30+ yards...
This is what gravitated this coaching staff towards him because he can and is accurate on deep throws...
Problem is he wants to Aaron Rodgers it every throw down field and nothing else matters...
O.C. LaFleur wants Wilson to be a more pocket passer but he is an improvising gunslinger who wants to move out of the pocket and rip it...
This is what they should of worked on during camp, now in games he wants to be that guy, face of the franchise lighting up with deep passes...

If I'm not mistaken the play you are referring to was when Wilson was flushed out of the pocket and Moore was wide open downfield at the hashmark. Wilson's back was to Moore at that precise moment, so it was a missed opportunity.

That's the play but Moore was uncovered prior to Zach getting flushed, and started running to the boundary when Zach did the same. Had plenty of time and space, think Zach was a little gun shy to throw there given the pick he threw to that location 3 throws earlier. He threw his second pass after the pick out of bounds there, third pass had a shot there and took a covered checkdown to Michael Carter that got blown up at the LOS.
I'm still not buying he cant see the reciever , Moore is a little taller than Crowder and taller than Carter and Wilson sees them fine. Think he looks for the deep pass too often, and Moore has been open underneath for easy first downs that Zach has to learn to take.

Moore is a slot period and doesn’t appear he has the talent of a Tyreke Hill. So if this is the case, he can’t be that difference maker they taught he would be. Mims has that talent, speed and size to open it up for Moore and everyone else. Why can’t these idiots see this?

he can play outside but he hasn't found his game yet or better yet found his connection with Wilson during game day...

Mims and Davis are outside guys but Cole, Moore can play outside just has to be scripted not stacked plays...

We’ll Moore has to show it to me because I seriously have my doubts. Crowder and Cole have shown that they play the outside. Although the slot is better for them but Moore has not. Not in my opinion anyway.

too often when Moore is open the QB is not in position to throw or his timing is late. Moore is ahead of Wilson in terms of understanding his own job - Zach is throwing behind guys and late.

Moore was used a ridiculously low amount of plays this week while the TE played too much. Again, the OC is way out of his depth.

and yes, Moore would be better in the slot...that's his strength coming from Ole Miss. Look, he was certainly open for the big TD pass that Zach underthrew - good thing there was PI. Play and player was there - Zach was inaccurate.

it is way too early with way too many other mitigating factors to judge Moore......or Mims for that matter. Everyone is suffering from inexperience - but to have it at the OC spot too.....woof

they stated as much that they had a reduced playbook and the plays that were utilized didn't involve him...
as stupid as that sounds this O.C. & H.C. are full of excuses...

@Seaver41...Zach threw a TD Pass that the DB had to defend by committing P.I.
there is no guarantee that you could have led Moore any more than he did to work out for a TD, and the fact that the DB "had to" commit a P.I. means he was on target; IMO, that is.

as to Moore in the slot, and Moore on the outside...how about Moore at the "Tyreek Hill" spot? Get him in at RB, the Slot, Outside...and then motion him as the defense dictates.

defenses play us straight up, and Moore can give them something to think about.

the defender on the PI could have and should have intercepted - Moore had to slow down and DB caught up - but inexplicably didn't play the ball.

Moore will be fine, he has an unique style that the O.C. needs to find on how to incorporate it...

but the O.C. not only needs to work him in often but also needs to find a role for Mims because both are capable of creating their own separation getting open where Wilson can throw too because we all know there are no tight ends on this roster worth a damn...

but by the same token, Moore could have and should have made a play on the ball and had a TD, right?
he was the one who was there, and the DB was the one who had to catch up. Moore waited for the ball.

i am not covering for Zach...he is letting good opportunities go down the drain, but i refuse to give our receiving corpse an inch until they make something happen. Zach isn't the only who can be and should be called out for not making a play.

well...lol....Moore got bowled over by the DB so he really had no shot to catch it.

Zach and the rest of the Jets fans want to know when or if JETS WRs are going to be able to start catching passes hitting them on hands right to them like Patriot WRs do?
