Indianapolis Colts Coming off a (34 - 31 Loss)
While the sting of Sunday's loss will linger through the evening, the Colts will have to quickly move on starting Monday with the Jets flying to Indianapolis in just a few days. The last time the Colts suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss, they did so on Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens and had to quickly flush that one, too (which led to a 28-point dismantling of the Houston Texans six days later). That same approach will be necessary for this team heading into hosting the Jets in primetime on Thursday night at Lucas Oil Stadium.

"It's a long season, we know where we're at," Wentz said. "Fortunately a loss like this, we got a quick turnaround. Thursday Night Football, it's always tough on our bodies but sometimes it's good for your mindset to just move past this one.

"… Thankful we got a quick one here. Quick turnaround, it's at home too which is nice. Just no time — I'll watch the tape early on, move on, wake up in the morning and it's on to the next."

And before the player plaudits, there were the Halloween crowd at MetLife who took up the chant of a player whose name they never chanted before.

"At first, I had to kind of listen again. I'm like, 'Are they chanting my name?' " the QB said, adding he's never had his name chanted at any game he played in before. "That was pretty cool."

It was certainly deserved, said head coach Robert Saleh, who quickly eliminated any suspense by saying that White, not the recent trade acquisition Joe Flacco or a rapidly healing Wilson, would get the Thursday night start at Indianapolis.

"Yeah, why not?" Saleh said when asked if he thought White had this kind of performance in him. "I know sometimes, from the outside looking in, the decisions that scouts and coaches make can seem crazy. But we get to see these guys every day, see them operate. We're blessed to be around great players in the league. Mike is poised, he showed throughout training camp that he deserves to be one of those guys. And obviously he showed it today."

And now White will get to show it again on the Jets' only primetime game on their schedule, on the road vs. Indy. He was quick to remind that, no matter how much confidence he has in himself to do the job he did, it was all about treating his teammates and Jets fans to this Halloween victory and that he's listening to them, not any self-serving voices in his own head.

"Most definitely there's a lot of happy guys in that locker room," he said. "But multiple guys hinted that it's a quick turnaround. Use the rest of this day to celebrate, as we should — it was a good team victory. But it's a short week, so we've got to be able to move on tomorrow and get ready for the Colts."

If they can beat the Bengals, they can damn sure beat the colts which are a team not that much different than the Jets win and loss wise. They have one more win than us but they have also played one more game than us with 5 losses. Not saying they are a bad team and easy to beat but they are not the same caliber of a team as the Bengals....................so I'm both hopeful and optimistic.

I would like to see the continued development of all the young players: Carter(s), Moore, AVT, Mims, young CBs, etc., and another solid performance. I have been for the most part silent about the 'Wally Pipp' scenario, but I think that this is the best thing that could have happened to Wilson. He needs to see how the system works best, and right now White is the best guy on the roster to show him how its done. White will be tough to knock off his perch if he keeps it up, but in the long run Wilson has the better upside. Imagine if you combine the short game savvy that White demonstrated with the field stretching capabilities of Wilson; you'd have a very tough team to prepare for. yesterday's comments on the board about #2 pick bust, etc. were a bit over the top. I've said it all along, a rookie coaching staff, rookie QB and rookies sprinkled through the starting 22 make for a difficult if not impossible ride. Yesterday showed one thing, if you change one component of that formula things can change dramatically. Lets see what happens when the Colts have a couple of days to scheme away the short pass. Does White have the arm strength to go over the top and make the defense pay attention? Don't get me wrong, I love what White/Lafleur did to the Bengals yesterday and hope it lays the foundation going forward.

Coming out of Western Kentucky his Scouting Report Strengths:

  • Arm talent is the first thing you notice
  • Former high school pitcher with 90 MPH fastball who can crank up that heat when he needs to
  • Has good drive accuracy
  • Able to push the ball into tight windows
  • Has velocity and accuracy to attack the middle of the field
  • Can alternate between heat and touch
  • Throws catchable deep ball and has ability to drop it over a cornerback's head down the sideline
  • Can be dangerous from the pocket when he's protected
  • Completed 57 percent of his deep throws when protection was better in 2016
  • Resets feet before throwing when he leaves the pocket
  • Asked to make full-field reads at times

They left out he is a leader. I actually think Mike White can unseat Wilson at least for the rest of the year.

a lot to prove yet - CIN inexplicably didn't do anything to combat the short passes and dump offs to the backs. Something tells me that won't be readily available this week. Now would be the time to hit some downfield shots

Ashtyn Davis - was reading up on him and he basically was Joe Burrow's best asset on the field Sunday. Guy was abused.

I don’t have a good feeling on this one . We play great against quality opponents and shit the bed with average or poor opponents. Colts are average. If it was at home…. I’d say this is a win. Road game…… i think we blow this one and White falls back to Earth

I feel the need to say that the Colts have film on Mike White now and the game and results we see tomorrow will be much different than last Sunday but who knows. Kurt Warner came from where, so did Tony Romo and quite a few other QBs. So maybe we have found a hidden gem here but I seriously doubt it. Don't be surprised Jets fans if the Cinderella ball drops on White tomorrow night and we see a much different out put in a Primetime game on National T.V. That would be SO JETS LIKE!!!

Hey Mike,
Keep it boring. Those "Darnold-Wilson roll-to -the right passes" probably have a single digit completion percentage.
You breathed new life in this old-time Jets fan.
Thanks...

yup. or the other Jet choice:

we beat Indy cause they're just not that good. Then Jets Nation has 10 days to get all psyched about how great we are, how we're finally a real football team, and how we're primed to take down Buffalo.

and then Buffalo wacks us 56-0

I want nothing more from Jets Players than to play hard the entire hour. Jets do that and wins or loses and Im good! Same with White, Id like to see him do well enough to maybe get signed as a Starting QB for some Team and given a shot from his play on Jets. Bengals are not this great team. But Titans and Colts are more proven. Bills are the Team to beat for Jets just like Pats which neither Jet QB looked good in loss, but again no Jets player looked good. So Play hard Jets on National tv and try not to shame your self and Jets fans any more than you have from Pats game.
