as of right now Malik Willis Liberty and Matt Corral Ole Miss are the only 2 sure fire 1st round pick QBs others may come in at the back end of the 1st but doubt it... One rising now is Kenny Pickett from Pittsburgh.
For us it is not about stacking one talent, is trying to get as much talent as we can get through the draft and I believe fleecing one team for that Number 2 pick is mandatory... Marginalizing that second top 5 pick move back no more than 5 spots and still get a need... Say Pittsburgh finally wants to move up and get that heir apparent to Big Ben they are going to have to give up 3 1st to start... 2nd & 4th(3rd Comp) this year, 3rd in the next two years to even open up the conversation... That is fleecing folks maximizing this year's capitol but making sure we get additional future capitol...
now for that 5th overall I see three teams needing to move up to get Aidan Hutchinson, Kyle Hamilton or George Karlaftis all Top 10 prospects but teams know don't sit go after your prospect... Say after 6 & 7 Giants the 9th pick Atlanta may be inclined to go after Safety Kyle Hamilton could give up two 3rds one this year one next year to move up 4 spots...
So stock piling already a rich draft capitol the Jets would now have
Atlanta's 9th (Trevor Penning) RT can play LT
Steelers 18th (Nakobe Dean) LB can play inside or out (Can line up as EDGE LB)
Our 36th (Lewis Cine)
Carolina 43rd (Christian Harris) MLB can play all 3 roles in a 4-3
Steelers 50th (Zay Flowers)
Our 67th (Zion Johnson) Guard
Atlanta 73rd (Isaiah Likely) Vertical Threat TE
Steelers 97th (Trey McBride) Possession TE
Carolina 113th (Cade Mays) OL can play 5 positions including center, actually he excels as center
Minnesota 121st (Jerrion Ealy) RB former Ole Miss team mate of Elijah Moore & Kenny Yeboah
Our 146th (Jerrod Clark) DT
Steelers 160th (Damone Clark) tackling machine already up and over 125 tackles for the season
This is just a rough sketch of what could be... Again hate what ifs but if you want to fill holes not to mention I see at least 3 players being traded:
- CJ Mosley
- George Fant
- La'Mical Perine
Also could see these players not being re-signed:
- Marcus Maye
- Folorunso Fatukasi
- Ryan Griffin
- Tyler Kroft
- Jamison Crowder
- Keelan Cole
- LaMarcus Joyner
- Sharrod Neasman
- Jarrod Wilson
- Morgan Moses
- Braxton Berrios
- Tevin Coleman
- Joe Flacco
- Conor McDermott
Could see these players receiver tenders:
But this is the big list on players that could be released:
So a lot of positions to be filled and taking possible the next big thing could only spell trouble for this organization moving forward...
