No Take Thibideau at 2 and Neal sat 5 . Only way I trade out is if Thibideau is gone . This team needs that edge rusher in the worst way .

I hear you Tinstar, but there may be better fits further down. My thinking is this, I would love to come away with one of Neal/Linderbaum/Green and maybe Hamilton /Dotson/Stingley in the first. Currently, this is absolutely possible. Trade #2 and you walk away with three of them possibly.

I’m all about quality not quantity. I’m also considering the future cap situation and who we keep vs who we replace via the draft . I love the way how the Steelers organization is run . They keep certain players while drafting potential replacements on yearly basis . Fill out the total roster with core players and look towards upgrades with future players at aging positions or who are coming up on contracts that we might be able to move on from .

This draft is basically top heavy defense...

You don't take Thibodeaux at Number 2, You don't take Derek Stingley with Number 2, Joe Douglas may entertain taking Evan Neal at Number 2 but the smart move is get a team interesting in giving up the kitchen sink to move up...

I hate what if threads, never ends well we already had one guy spew this nonsense and now hasn't been around since...

Seattle not winning even with Wilson at QB... Regardless there are too many options and too many variables...

We have Carl Lawson, we have Bryce Huff, we have JFM, we probably have Shaq Lawson (restructured) if we add a DE (EDGE) won't be until day two (Round 3)... We still have Jabari Zuniga, Ronald Blair, Hamilcar Rashed Jr. and likely find others but no need to draft this particular position... Sorry @Tinstar

Trade #2 and select Neal at 5
Both... would be my move
At least 3 teams could be interested in moving up
  • Las Vegas Raiders (New HC might want their QB)
  • New Orleans Saints (They can't be behind their current situation)
  • Pittsburgh Steelers (how much longer can Ben go) Local Pitt Pickett perfect fit for Pitt?
Trade #2 fleece a team

Evan Neal gone at 5 more than likely still on the table Kenyon Green & this player is climbing the boards quickly five weeks ago was a 3rd round pick coming out of a school known for developing tackles, Northern Iowa Trevor Penning he won't be around after Pick 15... Getting another Top 10 team interested in this case 5th overall maybe move back a few spots within the top 10 and grabbing this tackle would be ideal...

Rebuild the OL, get Penning with 5th (trade within Top 10) he is ideal because he brings versatility to our Line... If Becton is that injury prone we have a viable backup... Next year believe our swing tackle could and should be in his contract year Chuma Edoga, and may still have George Fant both under contract...

No need to be sorry boss . I’m taking the difference maker at edge if it’s my call . Your call goes a different direction and that what these boards are for. I have no idea how Lawson is going to come back but if history is any indication it’s going to be the 2nd year before he’s back to where he was before injury. This season proves none of the remaining players aren’t fared at edge . I want that special edge rusher and that’s Thibs .
On the real I actually want another RB to pair with Carter but a bigger type.
How ever it plays out it’s ought to be interesting. I like our chances with JD the hustler .

I'm taking Thibodeaux if he is there - but he won't be getting past #1. I trade one of these picks for sure to stock up.

as of right now Malik Willis Liberty and Matt Corral Ole Miss are the only 2 sure fire 1st round pick QBs others may come in at the back end of the 1st but doubt it... One rising now is Kenny Pickett from Pittsburgh.

For us it is not about stacking one talent, is trying to get as much talent as we can get through the draft and I believe fleecing one team for that Number 2 pick is mandatory... Marginalizing that second top 5 pick move back no more than 5 spots and still get a need... Say Pittsburgh finally wants to move up and get that heir apparent to Big Ben they are going to have to give up 3 1st to start... 2nd & 4th(3rd Comp) this year, 3rd in the next two years to even open up the conversation... That is fleecing folks maximizing this year's capitol but making sure we get additional future capitol...

now for that 5th overall I see three teams needing to move up to get Aidan Hutchinson, Kyle Hamilton or George Karlaftis all Top 10 prospects but teams know don't sit go after your prospect... Say after 6 & 7 Giants the 9th pick Atlanta may be inclined to go after Safety Kyle Hamilton could give up two 3rds one this year one next year to move up 4 spots...

So stock piling already a rich draft capitol the Jets would now have
Atlanta's 9th (Trevor Penning) RT can play LT
Steelers 18th (Nakobe Dean) LB can play inside or out (Can line up as EDGE LB)
Our 36th (Lewis Cine)
Carolina 43rd (Christian Harris) MLB can play all 3 roles in a 4-3
Steelers 50th (Zay Flowers)
Our 67th (Zion Johnson) Guard
Atlanta 73rd (Isaiah Likely) Vertical Threat TE
Steelers 97th (Trey McBride) Possession TE
Carolina 113th (Cade Mays) OL can play 5 positions including center, actually he excels as center
Minnesota 121st (Jerrion Ealy) RB former Ole Miss team mate of Elijah Moore & Kenny Yeboah
Our 146th (Jerrod Clark) DT
Steelers 160th (Damone Clark) tackling machine already up and over 125 tackles for the season

This is just a rough sketch of what could be... Again hate what ifs but if you want to fill holes not to mention I see at least 3 players being traded:

  • CJ Mosley
  • George Fant
  • La'Mical Perine
Also could see these players not being re-signed:

  • Marcus Maye
  • Folorunso Fatukasi
  • Ryan Griffin
  • Tyler Kroft
  • Jamison Crowder
  • Keelan Cole
  • LaMarcus Joyner
  • Sharrod Neasman
  • Jarrod Wilson
  • Morgan Moses
  • Braxton Berrios
  • Tevin Coleman
  • Joe Flacco
  • Conor McDermott

Could see these players receiver tenders:
  • Mike White
  • Kyle Phillips
But this is the big list on players that could be released:

  • Greg Van Roten

So a lot of positions to be filled and taking possible the next big thing could only spell trouble for this organization moving forward...

I don't see any of the QBs moving into the top 5......today. But as you know the draft board changes immensely as we near the draft. The Liberty kid is 2nd rd or more likely late in 1st unless he wows in the workouts. He is far from polished from the games I've watched. Corral seems to be the most accomplished and vastly improve from his 2020 self. The Pitt kid will go in round 1 as well. The narrative so far has been it's nowhere near the QB talent of the 21' draft so I'm not sure we're gonna get that movement up near the top.

I'm not high on drafting a DE and I doubt Douglas will take a safety with a first Rd pick. I still believe we will go Offense with the our 1st and 2nd Rd picks (OL, WR, TE, OL).

QB’s are how franchises are made or lost. They are always premiums in the draft. Deserved or not there will be at least 2 picked in the top 5.

Haven’t seen Thibodeaux a lot this year….. but did watch him play against Utah this weekend. He was a complete dud in that game ….. did nothing and Oregon was completely blown out

The utes ran the ball down the Ducks throat all game long by mostly running away from Thibs . When they did run at him he was doubled with a TE helping .
Thins is a pass rusher who is a solid run stopper. When you’re the man defensively in college football, it’s easy to take you out of the game . In the NFL it’s not so easy because you have others who need attention also .
