He's a freaking ROOKIE thrown into the fire on a 2-14 team.

Jesus Christ. He's a ROOKIE!

Draft him another OT 1st round to pair alongside Mekhi Becton and also draft him a beast Center (kid from Iowa) with our other 1st round pick and then use our two 2nd round picks on a beast TE and another WR.

And I guarantee he'll begin to look GOOD next year.

So Wilson can only succeed with blue chippers at every single position on offense? Well Mike White can too.

rookie or not...
talent around him did their jobs...
he failed to complete the short pass yet again...
he still played reckless...

The real question is why do you think Darnold is a piece of shit? You have a lot of hate for him. I don’t hate Wilson. I just don’t think he is going to be able to handle NY. And I have seen nothing to compare him to Mahomes or Rodgers. He is way closer to Hackenberg than either of those two.
Not a hatred for Darnold but a clear reality of how garbage he is. I realized it in year three. Year two to be honest with you but I gave him to year three before giving up on him period. Plus he could never stay healthy, so he was pretty much useless to us. He’s doing the same damn thing in Carolina or was, but now that he’s a back up, they don’t have to worry about that anymore.

Darnold was making the same mistakes in year three as he was in year one. There was never any improvement. Please don’t make the excuse about the coaching and non weapons because it’s BS. He wasn’t running for his life every down or throwing from his back every down. He had plenty of opportunities to make something happen years 2-3 and at most times he couldn’t.

Year one I gave Darnold a total pass because he was a rookie. Year two I looked for improvement in him but none really showed. Plus he couldn’t stay healthy once again. By year three I was done. It will be the same with Wilson if he doesn’t improve by years two and three. Gotta give the kid a chance, DAMN! Plus, I think Wilson’s talent and potential level is much better and higher than Darnold.

No he can’t, he didn’t do it against the Bills or was that the Colts we were destroyed by on prime time TV? Anyway, you get my point. Zach is a ROOKIE but White has fours years experience. Big difference!

The Jets still won and he had something to do with that. He was a #2 overall pick for a reason. We gotta let the kid grow and learn for another year at least before we take the pitchforks out on the kid. Most of you guys wanted the Jets to draft Zach Wilson, while I didn’t want Zach at all. I wanted to the to draft Justin Fields, and it’s look at me now that a lot of you guys have given up on him after just 10 games, already! DAMN!

blah blah blah
they said he improved this past week in practice with the short game how did it look to you?
they said he was a 100% he said he was 100% prior to the start of the game, post game what did he say?
when you draft a quarterback the first thing you expect from that quarterback are the easy throws, or am I wrong on that?
well this kid is backwards has the strong deep ball arm with accuracy but can not hit the right side of a barn two yards away...

they saw flash and pop at his pro day and during his time at BYU... they saw a kid that can fling it deep and would take their game plan to the next level problem is they overlooked his short yardage passing ability... in practice it looks good because there is no real defensive pressure, but he needs to work with the receivers and elevate his touch because we see the zip... I mean he zipped a 4 yard pass 20 yards and almost to the safety that was there...

his attitude is also not right, he speaks with that bravado that he doesn't need to listen to the critics nor the fans --- it won't end well unless he changes not only his tune but his play style which to this point is reckless and selfish...

for all those naysayers the team is always going to say the right thing about the active starting quarterback to the media and fans because they know better... don't want to cause drama, don't want to cause headlines... but unless the team gels starting with the quarterback playing for the team not for himself then will the team succeed...

I'll be happy when/if Zach gets into a rhythm every game and moves the chains with fluidity. He certainly has the quickness (in my layman's eyes) to throw short, productive passes where a good RB can stretch it even a few more yards.
Next to a loss, it is also so disheartening to watch a later game showing how the pros should play. A Green Bay, The Chiefs, no sense listing more. We want it too!

I am normally with you, but:

1.) Darnold played pretty well as a rookie all things considered.
2.) When Darnold came back in year two, won 6 games coming down the stretch.
3.) IMO, the lack of the year three jump was defenses getting a year of film of Gase's High School Offense being run under Darnold.

biggest misconception I see is people thinking Wilson had to be as good as or better prepared than Mac Jones. BYU vs Bama. This is a developmental year for Zach - Jones is further ahead but not as talented. This isn't prima donna Mark Sanchez - this kid puts in the time and it will pay dividends....once it slows down for him. Not there yet. Again I will say the reads he makes- that is where a Sanchez or Darnold failed. This kid just needs valium

Started the game 1 for 5 for 11 yards and a pick.
Ended the game 12 for 19 for 134...that could have easily been 13 for 19 and TD if #86 held onto the oval thing Zach put in his hands.
* That's 63% and 7 yards per attempt...both serviceable numbers.

I didn't see balls thrown into double or triple coverages.
I did see him use the TE as an outlet.

I did see him hit some nice timing throws...one to Keelan and a deep slant to Moore.
I did see him take easy completions...and got some good YAC as a reward; most notably, #10 on a simple hitch in the pocket of a zone.

He did look rusty and clunky, but IMO, he looked a lot like Mac did in his first few games...serviceable.

But Wilson has all this supreme talent. I’m not sure where people saw this talent. He played at BYU. Maybe Wilson needs to sit 4 years so he can learn how to throw a screen.

100% on the ability to read.
I am not certain if our running game of late is a mirage, or if it is the real thing. But assuming it is for real, (a.) that helps with the game slowing down, and (b.) puts him on level footing with Mac on being able to develop.

and that makes your point...they are not the same player in the same situation. comparisons are inevitable, but right now it is comparing apples to apples; albeit Fuji's to Granny Smiths. The same but different.

We have a Draft coming soon. Add a Mangold and D'Brickashaw Ferguson to the Offensive line, a Curtis Martin in the backfield, a Wesley Walker as a wideout, a Mickey Shuler at TE and problem solved.
Do we shake the cobwebs off Parcells also . Refresh my memory but what exactly did those guys win ?

wasn't pretty it was thrown behind Cole who made the grab...

to your point, Keelan may have gotten YAC had it been a perfect pitch and catch, but it was in only a place #88 could make the grab, and an easy enough ball to adjust to. it was the right target and a good gainer with low risk.

but, congrats to Keelan for making an unspectacular grab every NFL receiver has to make. i am not being snarky...scout's honor.
But it does seem that Zach has to be perfect to be worthy of his draft status...well, let's be certain we spread that around.

had Zach taken a few yards and slid w/o the shovel pick, and #86 caught the ball in the end zone, we're all talking about a pretty decent day. Those things did and didn't happen, so we are just talking about a serviceable win.

when Thor and Brick had a competent offense, they played in two consecutive AFC Title Games.
Well, complete the wall and let's see what this team can do.

Here’s what it boils down to folks . This offensive coaching staff has put 4 QB on the field and the worst of the 4 is the guy who was drafted the highest.
Zach “Opie” Wilson has some splaining to do and a ton to prove before I am convinced he’s nothing but another mistake.
