Becton ,Im so disappointed in him letting himself get out of shape. Im not sure about Beckton has the heart and stones to play in NFL being proffesionaly in shape prepared. I say give him one more chance next year and if same crap trade or cut him. Too much money to spend on play as bad as his. Becton a one year play best for big contract only? I hope not, but it looks like it. Sort of reminds me of a Jets Safety we Traded after 1 great season and Becton might be next.
Worse comes to worse, we can try him out at RT or RG. I don't think he can be any worse then Van Roten.
That kid was not out of shape . He simply got injured . As a matter of fact he probably wasn’t as effective as he usually was because he lost some weight.

Yep. I say move Becton to RT to team with the Doc. We have the edge with Becton….. with him missing probably the rest of this year…. A move to RT for year 3 and 4 will establish him as a RT going forward with the majority of his work at that position when the contract is up.
Becton is our left tackle lets stop pretending he needs to move from his position...
AVT at the start of the season was not up to snuff and he finally figured out his role and has succeeded...
When Mekhi comes back this BS will be put to rest...

don't you think Fant's success is not his own, he has had the presence of AVT who although a rookie has been stellar himself...
some of the pressures that they are accrediting to AVT were actually suppose to be on Fant, well that is what some officials are stating...
so slow your role on who should be where and who is actually doing their jobs...

You all know how I feel about this so I won't go into detail. Fant is not a better LT than Becton, who is not out of shape. Players get injured. He is one of those unfortunates. Fant could be moved to RT where play is weak and his eventual replacement can be drafted with some of our extensive draft capital. What we need on the "O" line now is a center with good football IQ and the ability to actually block. A really good tight end or 2 would also be nice.
like I said the variables are essential in determining what type of center the Jets front office will seek to draft...
the top three all day 2 options are just physical, high character, team leaders with good communication skills and fit our scheme...
a) Alec Lindstrom, Boston College
b) Ricky Stromberg, Arkansas
c) James Empey, BYU
all are worthy of being drafted by us and won't command a 1st round pick to get one of these three... in order 2nd through 4th as listed there...
of the three I prefer Ricky Stromberg, but a close second is Lindstrom with Empey being a familiar face for ZW...
I also prefer Stromberg but for me I think Empey beats out Linstrom because besides being familiar to Wilson, he is also bigger and stronger. All 3 have similar skill sets.

I'll check out Empy's when you get it up. I think it will measure up to the other two quite well. My shopping list right now is topped with Center and tight end.
