Everything except that last line after the and .Then the teams that win would complain they played the equivalent of 5 NFL games. The rules are fine. The Bills are complaining but they had 60 minutes to win the game. The Rams played it perfectly Sunday. They didn't want to take the chance that Brady would get the ball back. The Bills had the #1 defense and they blew it during regulation. They only had to stop the Chiefs from getting 40 yards in :13 seconds. They deserved to lose that game and I hope it hurts those fans deep down.
Make a simple change to the rule and it’s fair . Instead of the way it is now, start the OT with each team getting the ball on the opponent’s 45 yard line and if you score a TD you have to go for 2 . No FGs allowed in overtime.
Whatever else it may be, it's not 'unfair' because the Bills had an equal chance to win the coin toss. How about if there is a howling wind in one direction, is it unfair that the teams don't play both ways?
I'm still trying to find someone to answer my question, if the first team to possess the ball takes up all of the clock and kicks a field goal with the last tick, how do their opponents get this possession they are supposed to have?
that is it right therePlay 15-minute periods until a winner.
that is it right there
overtime is another period, and at the end of the 5th quarter to one with the most points wins
but in the playoffs after the 5th quarter and still tied then they can do what they do now
don't pat yourself on the back lolzYeah, I had to actually go online to check and make sure I understood the ref correctly when he explained the rules. Sometimes...............I actually am right. Sometimes.
don't pat yourself on the back lolz

But then fans of the losing team who didn't get the ball 1st could still find excuses to complain about an unfair advantage.
Example: 1st team has the ball for 8 minutes and scores a FG. 2nd team has the ball for 6 minutes and scores a FG. The 1st team in under a minute kicks the game winning FG.
The fans of team #2 who got the ball 2nd can and will complain how team #1 had more possessions (2 vs. 1).
I say just keep it how it is. Overtime rules of today puts a priority on having a DEFENSE that can stop an Offense and let's be honest. Just look @ my username![]()
