Jets fans. If the Steelers called for the 10th pick,
would you be ok moving back to 20?
10th pick is worth 1300 points
20th, their 2nd and 4th is worth 1400.
Would you do it?

I'd certainly have to consider it. It would depend on who we wanted in round one and would they be there at 20.

Would depend on what's available at #10. What are the Jets passing on? They need elite players not JAGs.

Pittsburgh would want to jump up for a QB
nothing missing for us, plenty of talent in round 2 and 3 and an additional 2nd helps us

This is why I said consider but depends
Trey McBride was very well utilized in his college system as a versatile chess piece. McBride was used as a possession receiver, wide out, H-back, and even as a fullback and excelled in those roles. Trey was a three-sport talent in high school, still holding his high school’s career records in points scored (basketball), home runs, and runs batted in. He is simply an athletic freak of nature and a generally interesting person.

What we want to see from Trey McBride in Mobile
  • How does Trey McBride match up with NFL linebacker types? He oftentimes abused the linebackers in the Mountain West, and Colorado State didn’t often face NFL level linebackers. We’d like McBride to confirm that he is a mismatch against a linebacker during the week of practice at the Senior Bowl.
Pre-Senior Bowl projection
Trey McBride has excellent size and is too reliable as both a receiver and a blocker to go very deep into this draft. While his athleticism is still called to question, he is a valuable player immediately with his receiving ability, blocking prowess, and special teams coverage contributions.

We like McBride as a second/third-round prospect, and can fit in a wide variety of schemes. He’s going to go much higher than most people realize right now.

I think I might do it for a 2nd and 3rd. I know the points don't line up, but a QB should hold more value. JD has fleeced many teams so I expect nothing else from a 1st round pick swap.

that is a good point, but you can get premium quality in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds for:
Safety's, LB's, Right Side of the OLine to Center, TE.

playoff teams who are stacked with starters and depth at those positions load up on them in those rounds.

So you kind of answered
We’re no wheres near a playoff team
Aren’t stacked with starters
Nor any depth
So what are we going to load up on ?

correct...not right now.

but just for kicks, say we trade back both firsts for later 1sts, a second and third for each trade. we walk out with:

2 firsts.
4 2nds all day.
3 3rds all day.

get your impact players in the first....DE and CB; where they are normally drafted to plug and play.
then you get RG, RT, and C to plug and play with a combo of 2nds and 3rds...where they are normally drafted to plug and play.
a safety in the 2nd or third...where they are normally drafted to plug and play.
a LB in the 2nd or third...where they are normally drafted to plug and play.
a TE in the 2nd or third...where they are normally drafted to plug and play.
a DT in the 2nd or third...where they are normally drafted to plug and play.

now, your looking at a team added to Lawson, Q, JFM, Hall, Carter II, Ecchols, Quincy & MO on D
now, your looking at a team added to Zach, Carter, Eli, Cory, Becton, AVT on O.

to start the year, we won't win much, but at the end, we will look like a playoff team.
the key is drafting for quantity at spots where positions yield quality.

Jets should take very seriously such an offer - but hope there is a bidding war that can get them a bit more - like if Washington doesnt get a QB in FA or trade, will they give gets something just to move up one slot and get ahead of Pitt? And if Wash choice isnt the Pitt choice can we then deal with them too?

Or will Minn want to move up?
