Tuesday's official FA period is a complete joke. These guys are already announcing that they have signed.

I really don't understand the fascination some Jets fans have with Antonio Cromartie and why they are lobbying to bring him back. Is it desperation and selective memory? What else can it be, because when last seen wearing a Jets uniform he was routinely getting torched up and down the field, week after week. Reunite with that? Why?

Williams and Cro aren't flashy picks, but they do add stability to an unstable position. Same could be said for a guy like Hoyer.

Unfortunately, it may be the best the Jets can do this offseason.

You may be right Sack. Unfortunately, it really doesn't move the needle all that much from what we had. Both are number 2's at best and in their 30's. Not what we all expected, at least to this point, with the amount of cash we had to spend. Albeit so did a lot of other teams and I do believe the Jets are a harder sell in some situations.

As much as I still have an ax to grind with Revis and know he will be unbelievably expensive I'll ultimately be happy if he returns. Next two days will be interesting.

I'm pretty disappointed with that news. Really thought that he would have been a good fit.

Yeah, what you'really seeing is what I was tar and feathered for last week on the transaction thread, despite all our cap room, everyone has cap room, free agents don't want to come here. Are you hearing the Jags and raiders making a ton of b I g signings? No. Even with $65 mil in cap space, no bites. Mac is going to have to be creative because idzik turned this franchise into the jags and raiders, no one is biting at our offers.

Co is servicable, and servicable is the best this franchise can hope for until we build from within.

Well, Revis is best case scenario and Williams and Co are most likely and probabky best case scenario if we get 2 CBs.

But don't be too upset, Maxwell and Jackson were #2s paid like ones. They aren't #1 caliber CBs either.

I just hope we can add players under 30 this offseason. I feel like a raiders fan where ever player we add is in their 30s or about to be 30.

You got tarred and feathered because you were 1000% wrong about the Jets having to pay 50 percent more than every other team as about 8 respected posters pointed out then.

As for your no bites nonsense, free agency doesn't start until tomorrow so the only bites any team can talk about are signing their own.

But don't let facts get in the way with your preconceived reality, my friend. Run with it for 26 miles and maybe you'll get a marathon laurel

With all due respect, the majority of NFL players are drafted when they are 23 or 24, thus by the time they accrue the required number of years of service to become unrestricted free agents, a large number of them are "30 or turning 30 or nearly turning 30"

Hahahahahahaha

The human contradiction, "but you're wrong, but you're wrong"....hahahahaha....pathetic Free agency not starting yet hasnt stopped Maxwell from becoming a Eagles, maclin from becoming a chief, and Franklin from becoming a Charger...but dont let those facts make you choke on your cereal this morning...or you can let it. Either way is fine with me.

Maxwell is 26

Torrey Smith 26
Kareem jackson 27
Jason worilds 27
Derek Morgan 26
Orlando Franklin 27
Brian Orakpo 28
Chris Culliver cb 26
Davon House Cb Packers 25
James Carpenter 26

These are the guys we should be targeting...not every guy 29 and older...

Why the personal attacks and insults.

Maybe you should consider holding off until free agency actually starts before condemning the Jets for doing nothing

Report: Bills, Jerry Hughes agree to five-year contract

The Bills and Jerry Hughes were reportedly close to agreement on a new contract Sunday night.

Monday morning brings word that they’ve struck a deal. Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News reports that the two sides have agreed on a five-year deal that will keep Hughes from hitting the open market on Tuesday. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that there is $20 million in guaranteed money and that the full value of the deal is at least $45 million.

The move continues a busy offseason for the Bills, starting with the arrival of Rex Ryan as their new head coach. They signed Richie Incognito and traded for running back LeSean McCoy and quarterback Matt Cassel before giving McCoy and Hughes new pacts.

Hughes’s return means the Bills will be bringing back all four key pieces from their defensive front, which gives Ryan a lot of talent to work with on his preferred side of the ball in his first season in Buffalo.

I must have missed the official reports of all those guys signing with other teams and their statements that they wouldn't consider the Jets unless they got 50 percent more

They have done something, they acquired Marshall. I havent said they have done nothing, I said they're not going to get as much as people on this board thought. The idea we'd land a WR, OLB, OL, and 2 CBs wasnt realistic, especially when people thought we'd land Maxwell and Jackson, Franklin, Spiller, and McCourty. I said from the beginning we likely wouldnt land any of them unless we sent them crazy money contracts; th eproblem, other teams have enough room to make crazy offers too, which is why the players are picking other teams...they have a choice of similar money deals for where ever they want to go...and this aint that place. Its time to be realistic and realize guys like Cro, Bilal Powell, and James Carpenter are more in the Jets vision, not guys like Maclin, Maxwell, jackson, McCourty, or Franklin...those guys can go where they want and unless the Jets offered 20% more annually, they werent coming here...and they arent.
