There are those on this site who shall remain nameless that do the same thing. As a fan of 50+ years I am enjoying the trajectory of this team. I know this (including our QB) isn’t a finished product yet but it sure is fun watching this entire organization grow before our eyes. There will be bumps but I’m not going to ruin it by nitpicking every little thing. I know that isn’t how everyone thinks around here and I can respect that.
I see the entire thing differently with Zach and I posted that same exact opinion a few times on three different threads. What Zach is doing is more important then we all realize. He’s not turning the ball over number 1, he’s playing within the scheme of their playbook #2 and #3 he’s keeping plays alive with his mobility. Something Flacco couldn’t do. Even in his younger days.
Zach has avoided a lot of sacks over these past three games and we all know sacks are game/momentum killers. While moving out the pocket he throws it away, few for a few yards and even throws it to a open receiver here or there. This keep the drives in play without the negative results. If they don’t score points, it keeps us in positive field position or changes that position in our favor.
This has all helped to add up to 3 straight wins. I truly don’t think Flacco could have done this for us. Because of his mobility and arm strength as a threat he has opened the field up for the playmakers. Without all the passing stats to show for it. He’s averaging about 20-25 passes attempts at most but Flacco averaged 40-45 in the same amount of games.
There’s a reason for that and its added up so far to 3 straight wins for our team. Gotta love that!
