Zach was in the top 5 in passing accuracy in college. (I know it means little or nothing), but it does show a skill set. I am glad he no longer does a "Favre" and passes anytime usually to the other team. He has matured in ball protection. Hope , with what they got him in the WR room, he makes good on it.

It’s so typical that Dick Cimini is all over this Elijah Moore thing. Even when the news is good surrounding this team, he’s always going to the “story” that tempers the good vibes. Always stirring the pot.

He’s such a dick.

ESPN is in Bristol....Cheaters land. Cimini does his job perfectly in that regard.
I never wanted a homer to cover us, but he is just flat out ANTI-JET and is always only looking to stir controversies.
It's simple, don't read anything he posts - even the team cut a lot of his access to inside info over the last couple of years (and he's been quietly fuming about it)

There are those on this site who shall remain nameless that do the same thing. As a fan of 50+ years I am enjoying the trajectory of this team. I know this (including our QB) isn’t a finished product yet but it sure is fun watching this entire organization grow before our eyes. There will be bumps but I’m not going to ruin it by nitpicking every little thing. I know that isn’t how everyone thinks around here and I can respect that.

The Jets have an identity now and teams have already loaded the box trying to stop the run. Miami was successful stopping the run in the first half, until Mike dialed up that wheel route and Miami was so hell bent stopping the run they bit aggressively on the play action and left Beast Hall uncovered in the flat. We all know what happened afterwards. It’s the in game adjustments that dictate the play calling. More passes will go to the backs as a result of teams loading the box, plus having both Beast and MC in the formation means the defense has to play more honest. Some games are planned to lean more on the run and take some shots downfield. This was one of those games. Next week there will be a similar plan in place. The ponies are stingy yielding points and yards but are undisciplined with penalties. But I’ll give my opinion on how to defeat them in another post.

The most important stat is that we are 3-0 since Zach came back.
The most important stat is we are 4-2. Flacco did his job, LeFleur has failed both QB's in different ways. Zach is definitely the more mobile QB. We should have been running the ball the same amount with Flacco and maybe we would be 5-1.

I'm sure I'm the nameless party, but I think Zach has more tools at this point. I still say LeFleur is the issue with both QB's. I don't think he sucks, I just think he is learning the OC position as well.

I agree with this. GB loaded the box a ton against us and we still found ways to thrive against it. I don’t want to run Breece into the ground, so we have to balance it; but I haven’t seen a stacked front stop him LOL

Having the 2 back set with the beast and MC in the backfield at the same time can kill a loaded box. They both have above average receiving skills and all it will take is a few wheel routes or screens to either side (both possible in the same play) and that defense will back right off.

I see the entire thing differently with Zach and I posted that same exact opinion a few times on three different threads. What Zach is doing is more important then we all realize. He’s not turning the ball over number 1, he’s playing within the scheme of their playbook #2 and #3 he’s keeping plays alive with his mobility. Something Flacco couldn’t do. Even in his younger days.

Zach has avoided a lot of sacks over these past three games and we all know sacks are game/momentum killers. While moving out the pocket he throws it away, few for a few yards and even throws it to a open receiver here or there. This keep the drives in play without the negative results. If they don’t score points, it keeps us in positive field position or changes that position in our favor.

This has all helped to add up to 3 straight wins. I truly don’t think Flacco could have done this for us. Because of his mobility and arm strength as a threat he has opened the field up for the playmakers. Without all the passing stats to show for it. He’s averaging about 20-25 passes attempts at most but Flacco averaged 40-45 in the same amount of games.

There’s a reason for that and its added up so far to 3 straight wins for our team. Gotta love that!

Part of the reason Elijah Moore didn't see targets is because the run game was so good. The Packers couldn't stop it.

Zach is not making mistakes or teams are dropping the mistakes he makes, but the run game is the main reason for these wins. The best part is Zach Wilson is not a finished product. I don't know what that product will look like, but he is winning and has not been spectacular. If he can be then the offense takes off. In the meantime, run the ball and play defense.

I mean you are like a dog with a bone with this and keep putting it into every thread you can find 🤣🤣🤣

I see what you are doing but come on now, this is a conspiracy agenda you are pushing without supporting data. Yes Zach is mobile and that helps. But giving him sole credit for 3 straight wins and ignoring everything else (including defensive turnovers and scores, special teams scores, and a running game that is literally racking up almost all of the offensive scores), is just not being realistic.

Yes Zach has avoided some sacks that Flacco would have been toasted in. Yes that is a good thing. Yes Zach has not turned the ball over (great progress). Yes Zach started and we’ve won 3 straight games!

No the passing game is not clicking with Zach and we have to find a way to improve that.

Oh and to add to that, Zach had a heckuva 4th quarter against the Steelers!!!! He played great and carried the offense to that win! I was hoping he would build on that and really start getting into a rhythm with this offense, but it just hasn’t happened the past few games.

On to Sunday and hoping we can get this offense on the same page and all clicking together.

Lafleur needs to get Wilson a lot of reps with this during the week. Wilson struggled with the short screen throws initially, but this specific play you mention could really negate teams from loading the box and making Zach beat them in the air. Like you said, both backs are good receivers, too. This can take the offense to a whole new level.
