I don’t want to make this into a prediction thread. I don’t want to get into that because I don’t want to jinx our team or set myself up with failure with the hopes and expectations. So this is not a thread about that but what I did want to discuss is the rest of the Jets schedule, the possible record and the rest of the AFC playoff possibilities.
The Jets have to win at least 4 out of the next 8 games for a shot for the playoffs! It’s just that simple! Anything less than that and I don’t think a playoffs are even in the discussion. To be honest, I don’t think 10 wins will be enough for the Jets to make a playoff push either. There will most likely be 8-9 teams in the AFC that will win 10 games or more. If the numbers are even possible for that!
Let’s go through them: I see the Bills, Dolphins, Titans, Bengals, Ravens, Chiefs, Chargers and the Jets being the 8th team to possibly win 10 games. If this is possible than the Ravens and Bengals already have the edge over the Jets. Titans will win their division, so they already get a bid. Chiefs will win their division and the Chargers can probably squeak out 10 wins also. Bills and Dolphins will obviously win 10 or more games as well.
This leaves the Jets with the possibility of being left out the playoff picture, even with 10 wins on the season. Let’s not forget about the teams that can possibly be on the Jets ass like the Patriots. As long as Belibitch is the HC the Patriots can never counted out. There’s only 7 spots for playoffs teams, so can the Jets be one of them? I believe they can but to make sure of that, they need to win 11 games.
This Patriots game is the most important. Not only because it’s a revenge game but the Jets are technically a better team and should beat them. They gave that first game away but now they have to pull off a possible miracle and beat these bastards in their own home. Can they do it??? If they play the way the did against the Bills ofcourse they can. This game is one of the games they have to have because they are the better team and should beat them.
Then we have the Bears, Lions and Jaguars, games they should win also. Any given Sunday is they saying that holds true, so the Jets can’t sleep on anyone but there is no reason the Jets should lose these four games. The Bills game will most likely be a loss. The Vikings game will probably be the same. The Seahawks game is a game that can go either way but this a home game for the Seahawks, so… Last is the Dolphins game at home and they will want revenge.
So, I’d say 11 wins is the mark for a playoff spot but 10 wins will not only be a huge accomplishment but may possibly get us in also!
