Where will we get the backup QB from for next year as they won't be on the Roster this year with baby face & Grandpa removed. Draft or FA

I don't think giving up on Zach is the right move at this point (he is only a 2nd year player and still very young "23"). But he needed to be pulled and he needs to hold the clipboard and learn. He was thrusted into a position that he obviously isn't ready for, and maybe taking a step back to learn a bit will do him wonders and still allow him to be the QB of the future.
At a minimum he can be QB #2 while he is learning. Aaron Rodgers didn't start for 3 seasons, playing and learning behind Favre. Who knows, maybe if he was thrown to the wolves as the starter Day 1, he would have looked just as bad and went through the same growing pains.

Probably the middle rounds, unless one they really like drops into their laps in round #2.
The reach for a backup will get less and less critical the better White does.

Here's the problem with that, well not really a problem but a factor in all of this. Mike White is only 27 years old. He's not 37 and on the back end of his career. So, if he can continue this and become our guy, Zach Wilson is done, and they will move on from him. So, this will not be just a learning lesson for him to return to the field as a Jets QB because he won't get a chance to. Not to say that would be a problem, the Jets would have to just chalk that up as a QB change that was not only needed but a hard lesson learned for them also.
They had their guy in the building the entire time and didn't realize it or didn't want to acknowledge it until just now. So, in essence, if this all works out this way, Zach Wilson was a wasted draft pick, and they'll have to eat that. Not that big of a deal because Joe D and Saleh has hit on just about every other draft pick and free agency signing. So, we'll just have to give them this one. This just might turn out to be a very good problem to have. We'll see how this all turns out the rest of this year but it's looking very good so far!

Sad to say but with my luck he ends up in AZ. If White is the guy then I don't see sack as the backup.
BUT it is funny that if this happens will all our good picks the two that were thought to be best Becton & Wilson are duds
Becton is an injury prone player matter, not a performance matter. When he played his rookie year he definitely showed signs of being the real deal. So I don’t think we can put that on the GM and HC of him being a dud. They couldn’t predict that this would be an issue. Unless you want to go the route that because of his size they should known this would occur. In fact, didn’t the old regime draft Becton? I could definitely be wrong about that but thought the Becton draft was before Joe D got hired.

Funny this morning I am driving down the road & one of those highway workers with the signs that say stop was directing traffic. He looked just like Becton & I started laughing.
Remind me to come back to this thread next season when Zach Wilson is still on the roster. Maybe even as the starter.
San Diego was once in this position and drafted Philip Rivers when they had decided Drew Brees wasn't their guy.
Players come and go. The Jets can be smart with this, and if White is the QB of now & the future, maybe we can get something for Zach. If he's not, they can keep developing Zach. If they are done with Zach they can draft another QB to be a backup or even the starter of the future.
Just have to be smart with it.
White had a very good game at the expense of a not so very good team without there starting QB. I doubt if White starts against Minnesota, he will have a good game at all.
We all know he will have his ups and downs. 9 times out of 10, in this game he won’t and I don’t think any rational Jets fan feels that way. He doesn’t have to or maybe he will against a high powered offense like there’s, LOL!
Point being is as long as he can be a consistent game manager and not screw things up for this team he’ll be good enough. Keep the chains moving and score a few points and this team can win. That’s all they need!

Oh and White played better against Chicago than any other QB this season (best numbers by any opposing QB), so does that count for anything??
I mean, I get it, Chicago isn't a great team (believe they were 3-8 coming into the game), but White shouldn't apologize for playing stellar against a bad team. Heck I'd be happy as hell if Zach was able to be stellar against any team.
