White 100% starts. If Saleh made that switch after this weeks game he would lose the locker room and maybe never get it back.

Saw an interesting stat today about Minnesota. They have the worst pass defense in the NFL. I believe it was Costello writing that in the Post. That shocked me for a team with that record. Maybe it won’t be so bad with White going against them.
Mike White has proved 1 thing. He is at least a viable backup QB for whoever they trot in here next year. I do love MW…. But lets not get too far down the road here. I gotta see him against Minn and Buff. If he can win 1 of those 2…. And play well in each….. then he gets a shot at the big chair. I do think Saleh should just let him start the remaining games. Lets see what we have. I have already seen enough of Zach. Zach will not start another game while we are still in contention …..
Conor Hughes made that point after the game. White is going to keep getting the nod unless he shits the bed against Minnesota and Buffalo. Saleh isn’t going to keep going back and forth game after game. That’s too unstable for the team. Sends the wrong message.

White deserves to be allowed an off game without having to look over his shoulder. If he is not allowed one poor game, considering the number of poor games previous QBs have had, then he has a legitimate argument that he was never given a chance.
Four starts, two great games, one mediocre game, and one awful game. With this defense, the team would be 12-5 or 13-4 with that. And even the best QBs have off days. Yes, even Allen or Mahomes.
He needs to be treated like the #1 QB, and not just until he stumbles a little. His high-end performances have earned him a longer rope than that. Yes, one of his top-end performances was against a beaten up Bears defense. The other was against a team that would win the AFC title that season.

I don't know if he beats the Vikings, but I have way more confidence in him than Wilson. I think White played poorly vs Bills last year because he had a shit team. He doesn't have that now.
Also keep in mind that a Head Coach and a General manager are judged differently. If the 2nd overall pick fails Douglas takes the hit. Saleh on the other hand is all about wins. Saleh will role with whoever gives a better chance of winning.
That last sentence is the key. You roll with who’s rolling. After that performance against the Bears, White has the job for at least a few weeks. If he continues to produce, not turn the ball over excessively, and the Jets win then you don’t have any problems playing him straight through the year. If he fails, it’s Wilson time.
This isn’t the problem people are making it out to be. Zach Wilson and Mike White competing for the starting QB position in 2023 isn’t a bad thing. It’s actually a good thing. Competition brings out the best in people. Nobody will be handed anything anymore.

This week should be a very interesting game. Minnesota is 9-2 but actually are ranked dead last in passing defense LOL. Their defense has a "bend but don't break" philosophy and if the Jets can get the ball into the playmakers hands, we may be able to exploit that pass defense.
