Jets so-called drafted QBs!

Bryce Petty could have been the one. He formed a great long passing combo with Richie Anderson.
Unfortunately, the coach didn't let him throw long passes and they traded Anderson.
Typical. The coaches didn't know what they had and/or didn't develop it because the players didn't fit into their system instead of he other way around.
Later
i liked petty as well but ole coach bowles absolutely did not..

yeah....i don't miss coach bowles much..

& by "much" i mean not at all..

I posted this on another thread but I figure it fits well here also. No more playing around here. I’d say let’s get to it because this team is ready to win now.

I say trade Zach and get what you can for him. Cut your losses and take the L on this one. Maybe they can get a 2nd or a 3rd for him and pay whatever to just move on. I believe MW is or can be the guy! Give the job to him full-time and give him a chance to lead this team. He's still young enough to have a HOF type career, if that's something that's in him.

He can be better then Garrapolo to be honest. He can be the next Kurt Warner with this team. I believe the Jets should draft a QB in the 5th-6th round and grown him for a year or two, just in case MW isn't the guy and hopefully whomever they draft can take over if MW fails. This team is ready to win now and there's no more time to play and wait around for Zach Wilson.

Daniel Jeremiah gave the PERFECT description of what Zach Wilson is and why he doesn’t fit the scheme of this offense. Why didn’t they draft Justin Fields, FUCK!!!

That’s a darn good memory for a young guy, no less an old guy. But then your only half as old as @Bigmoe :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: And he remembers every game that he saw for 50 years. I cant remebe that's because of the beermber where I set down my beer
Maybe that's because of the beer. I can relate to that..........

Again, how did that work out for Miami?
Well let’s see! He took them to a Super Bowl. True they didn’t win it but they at least went to it! They were real contenders for majority of his career and he was a first ballot HOFer. He also considered one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game. Even without a SB victory. So I’d say it worked out pretty good for them!

Saying he took them to a superbowl is an exaggeration. David Woodley took them to a superbowl. The dolphins upgraded from Woodley to Marino but didn't go further. And Ken O'Brien probably would've done the same thing on the dolphins. The dolphins had a hof coach and hof qb but neither could put them over the top. Either team would've fared better with Darrell Green.

Let's go a little further on this.

Would you rather have

Dan Marino and Russell Carter
--or--
Ken O'Brien and Darrell Green

Dan Marino and Don McNeal
--or--
Ken O'Brien and Darrell Green

How many superbowls did the Redskins win with Darrell Green...and who were their qbs?

So you’re saying that the Jets would have won multiple SBs with Darrell Green, instead of Dan Marino? I think you might be forgetting about the rest of that stacked Redskins team that came with Darrell Green at that time sir!

Still, i think the point is, for how good Marino was, he still never brought home a superbowl win in all those years even with Shula as coach. How would Jet fans have felt if we had Shula, Marino, and no SB wins?

Very true and I can’t argue or debate that but at least we’d be contenders for a decade is so back then. That’s better than nothing!
