I'm not 100% sure on this, but, I think there is only ONE rookie in our "O" line rotation. No excuses. Fant, who I believe has played about 450 snaps has been hit with 7 penalties and credited with 4 sacks. I don't even remember the stat for QB hits a allowed. I don't know what his PFF blocking grade is. I'd be willing to bet it's not good though because I have been watching him get beat on a regular basis. They all have failed at their jobs but his stats are the worst. This is just not acceptable for any "O" line on a team that intends to be compeitive. I don't know the answer to this situation. Do we replace them all with AVT quality players ? That would be ideal but not likely to happen very fast. That's why most of us expected the rebuild to take at least another year. My grandson suggest that we all open twitter accounts and bash each and every one of them until they step up their game. Personally I don't know how that would work unless you had a way to make sure they all saw the tweets. Maybe you young guys up to date on the technology have the answers.

As it turns out Fant is only average at LT though, so not a big lift to the line there either. McGovern as the stats show is actually the best player on the line. He allowed only one sack up to this point and a dozen or so pressures. The problem with him is that he's supposed to help the QB figure out the defense to make adjustments and he isn't quite getting that accomplished. I do like your draft selections so far.

You are absolutely correct CH. I agree with you, mostly. White is bound to get better with every game. My concern is only about the physical skills. He might improve there as well given time but learning and training to be a mobile duo threat QB is not easy if even possible and that's what this offense really needs in it's long term QB to really dominate defenses. I'm fine with White until we find that guy. I especially agree with you that the "O" line has sucked ass. White is damn lucky he isn't out for the season. That's why I get a little irritated when guys start ragging on Lefleur. First off he's new to the job as well so a mistake now and again is expected. Guys complain because he uses so many passing plays but if the running game has been shut down there just is no other option. The guys on the "O" line however, by the way are there because of their vast experience to help this team, are not new at the position. Because of their great experience they run every play exactly the way Lefleur drew it up. Anyone who thinks for a minute that that is the case is fooling themselves. This "O" line can't block it's way out of a wet paper bag, or at least they normally don't, just ask our running backs who in the last 4 games or so have had more negative yard plays than positive. So no matter who is under center they are at high risk of serious injury until the guys on the "O" line start doing their job. I agree completely with putting mike White in as the starter at least for now because he does give the team the best chance to win. That being said I fear for his well being because he isn't mobile enough to escape all the free running defenders coming at him and he will struggle to make plays with his feet when plays break down and we all know they will. OK, I'll get off my soap box now.

Got to agree with CH. the mobile QB’s generally have shorter careers. There is always that devastating hit that messes them up. More of a chance of that if you aren’t surrounded by the big ugly’s.

The Lions offense, with Goff, have been really good lately, why? Because their oline has been excellent. Goff is throwing the ball all over the yard because he has the time to do it.
I believe, with AVT back, hopefully a healthy and lighter Bechton, a new RG & RT( probably draft picks) hopefully an upgrade on McGovern, though better G play would help McGovern.
A smart, accurate QB like White will get the job done, especially with a healthy Breece Hall back in the fold.
An upgrade over C. Davis, Mims, Berrios is needed.

Yes. Brady has had 25 years to stand in one spot. Build an offensive line like his and put a good pocket passer ( if we build it he will come) behind it and we will win some rings. Lots

Aaron Rodgers has learnt to do it. He takes the open space and then slides before the defender gets there. He had to be injured first to learn the lesson though.

I agree.....there are some really successful pocket passers, but, as pointed out they have outstanding protection. I'd much rather see our QB turn a broken down play into a 4 or 5 yard run than a 10 yard sack. A running QB is an extra man that defenses have to account for so it opens up other opportunities.

Either you have it or you don’t! At some point we just have to see it for what it is. How long are the Jets supposed to wait on Zach here. Cut your losses and just move on.

I mean, he is on the roster and his salary is locked, so no reason to throw it away. He doesn't belong behind Center at the moment, but maybe resetting (both Zach and expectations) can work out for both sides. If you get the right QB coach in here, and the right OC, maybe some of the talent can be realized at some point (it's just not now).

If we get offered value for him, yes cut bait and run; but I don't see any reason to just dump the pick & cash for nothing. He's not what JD thought he was. So now what is he going to do about it?
