I agreed with this, until the rumors came out that he refused a veteran coach to help. He clearly had his issues, but he seems to be absolving himself of any responsibility or accountability for his part.

Zach sucked, O line was devastated and sucked, and LaFleur’s inability to put players in the best position to succeed, inability to call anything remotely successful in the red zone, and inability to ever call a balanced offensive game plan ALL SUCKED!!

Plenty of blame to go around, and if he can’t even acknowledge that he needs help, he’s not the right guy for the job.

If that’s all true, then I guess I agree. Especially since I haven’t been much of a fan of anything he’s done anyway

my only problem is, as with the QB’s, none of these guys excites me much and if any of them are good, they won’t come here under the circumstances. Hard enough on a new rebuild to get anyone here.

Listening to Bart and Hahn this morning, NY sports radio show, Bart Scott said that Eli Moore’s problem was with LaFluer not Zach.
Said in a practice he shouted you suck, to LaFluer.

And not Zach? . Seriously, that is why I have a tough time putting all of the blame on the kid QBs shoulders. I’m not saying he was good by any stretch, but sounds like MLF was at least equally to blame. Listening to Bart and Leger D, they feel that the kid is broken mechanically and to me that is shit coaching at least letting it get as bad as it did. MLF was clearly in over his head.

If no one wanted the job they would refuse interviews and so far only one has done that and he also did it to Washington. He said that he wants to stay where he is at. It's too early in the process to be making judgements.

Coach, zero in on a guy with a sound football mind who knows what system is best suited for the roster, when and what to call situationally. We don't have to go onion layer deep. That plus our defense should give us a nice record and we'd be enjoying a game in late January, not kicking a can out of frustration annually.

I made this call before, of course first time OCs are willing to go for it and try to make a name for themselves, but the established guys are staying far away.
