Comparing Rookie Seasons.... Is Sauce better than Revis?

Not sure what's up with Revis and why he has a bug up his ass. That being said, I'm extremely happy with Sauce! Guy was a top DB his rookie season and definitely has the athleticism of a "Cromartie type".

In a league where they are barely letting the DB's play, he had an extremely impression campaign "while still learning the NFL game".

It takes a ton of luck and health to put together a hall of fame career. Revis was one of the best to play his position and did it consistently across his career. Here's hoping that Sauce put together an even more impressive career!

Revis at it again. This time with Mangold. Google it and see what a tool this guy is. Simply no class.
So much easier if the guy asking you to take a look at something pops up a link to said event...

Just saying ;)

I vaguely recall Darrelle's play in 2007 so I had to look at the numbers. He didn't make the Pro-bowl until his second year. He didn't make All-Pro 1st Team until his third. He did make the All Rookie Team, but no player of the week awards. One Player of the Month Award in 2009, his third season. In total no rookie awards. I do remember the Jets moving up from 25 to 14 with the Panthers to get him.

88 combined tackles (75 solo), 17 PD's, 3 INT's, 0 Forced Fumbles and 1 Fumble Recovery compared to 75 combined tackles (51 solo), 20 PD's (NFL's best), 2 INT's 0 Forced Fumbles, 0 Fumble Recoveries, 1 DROY, 1 Probowl, and One 1st Team All-Pro. Niners ILB Patrick Willis won the DROY in 2007 btw.

IMO Gardner had the better rookie year and has the acknowledgement by the press and his peers. Revis had more tackles, but didn't receive any All-Pro accolades. Might be because the Jets only won four games that year. Pro-bowl AFC corners were Asante Samuel (NE), Antonio Cromarte (SD), and Champ Bailey (DEN).

Revis really is a prick.
Yes he is
But he did say
I’m joking with you buddy

This has become a problem in the “new” ( dating myself) age of texting - posting in forums social media in general.

So much is misread or taken out of context

But yea he’s a dick anyway

Yes, he said that in the end but that might be because of what other tweeters said in between.

Besides he then doubled down at the end saying it was the truth.

That's why I hate texting etc. You simply cannot tell when some are joking or not. Something could easily be taken out of context. Way of the World today.

As I said before, I respect what He did on the Field. When He took Patriot money and lived up to his nickname I said EFF HIM. I didn't want them to re-sign Him and quite frankly lost track of Him since his NFL Days. Whovis? That's more appropriate nowadays.
He won His ring with BB. Put his name on their ring of honor. Putz.

I try not to think about such things. When Revis was at the top of game, he was as good as anyone whoever played. But he took about a year to go from good to great. As a draft prospect, I thought that Patrick Peterson was better than Revis. But all in all, their careers were similar.
Early on, Sauce looks to be at a higher level than Revis. But he's on a different path and I don't think you can predict an entire career based on his first season.

Wait and see.

pp had 8 Pro bowls and 3 All pros...including his rookie season. Revis had 7 and 4 respectively and Revis didn't make the pro bowl in his rookie season and one of his pro bowl appearances was at rcb. I don't know how you can honestly say that pp was never that good.

To be fair to the argument, pp's rookie season was at rcb.

And profootballreference has Peterson immediately ahead of Aeneas Williams HoF, Lem Barney HoF, Richard Sherman (who will be in the HoF), Lester Hayes (who would be in the HoF had it not been for stickem), Ronde Barber HoF, and Darrell Green HoF. Furthermore, Peterson was on the HoF all 2010's team. If your eyes tell you differently then I think you need glasses.

As a fan of the Cardinals i see it this way too from a top ten list of overrated

"Patrick Peterson used to be an outstanding player, being a fairly complete cornerback. Peterson peaked at the age of 25, and since then his career went into decline.

Despite the obvious decline in his play in recent seasons, people still believe that Peterson is a phenom and that he just needs better teammates to show his talent, which is absurd. Patrick Peterson has been overrated for much of his career, and remains so today."

Going into the next season, who do you think is our most overrated, and most underrated player?
I'd say that I think our most overrated player is probably Patrick Peterson at this point. I know he has not played a snap yet, but his last two seasons with the Cardinals were pretty bad, and with his name recognition, I think fans are expecting prime CB1 play.

The guy is a really good player but every time I watch him he's getting beat and teams have no fear to throw his way. I just hear so much talk of him being an elite shutdown corner but I would rather have guys even like Tillman for the bears or Ike Taylor for the steelers and I'm a lsu fan by the way
