Bakhtiari would be another awful FA signing by JD.
Depends on his health. There are reports that previous surgeries had not addressed the core issue with his knee, but the most recent surgery did. A thorough physical and a contract that offers protections for the team from injury would make sense.

Mehki Bechton, think he resigns and moves to guard? Maybe that’s the spot for him with his, knee and abysmal lateral movement.
The thing is, he should have better lateral movement, not necessarily based on speed but on the length of his kick-step. Just that stride alone should make him more equipped to neutralize an outside speed rush. But it doesn't.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall his kick-step, at least early on in his career here, was a huge asset and otherwise negated his lack of lateral movement. Did the knee injuries rob him of that?

Why take a chance on Bakhtiari. Pay him big money and he reinjures his knee or just can't perform. It will be another typical move by JD. Instead of going for someone in FA like a OG and fix the LT in the Draft. The Patsies have an OG FA who would fit nicely with the Jets

The word is Bakhtari has progressed further in his recovery bcuz they fixed him right this time. He will be ready for preseason. For us we trade for him, pickup his contract and restructure by adding 2 years technically 1 year and reducing his cap hit. He is AR's guy they have chemistry and that seems weird to say but a QB that can trust his left tackle doesn't have to worry about being blind sided every down.

I still love that kid from Oregon State think he is the ideal pick for us. But if we get Bakhtari for a conditional 2025 pick we get to pai GW with another stud wide receiver. Then Gipson, and Brownlee will being fighting for slot receiver. To my understanding they are ready to shop Lazard and Rodgers is okay with it.

I thought the Oregon State kid was a RT; besides if he can play left side let him slide over after Bahktari is done. Still think we need 2 OTs unless you think we have starting RT on the roster.

If I understand it correctly dealing Lazard this season is really tough because of the finances. We may be stuck with him for another season.

Hear that Former Eagle first round OT Andre Dillard will be released by Titans. Is he worth a look?

I think we need to bring in 2 OTs this off season regardless of who's on the roster. What we have isn't cutting it. Move AVT, if he's healthy, Back to guard where he is at his best. If he can't make it through the season a guard is easier to replace than either tackle. In my, worthless opinion, we do not currently have a starting caliber OT tackle on the team. In fact, IF POSSIBLE, I'd bring in 3 OTs.

If he's being released because they can't afford him anymore.......yes, otherwise no. We need starters. I was high on him when he was drafted but he under-performed noticeably.

That would depend a lot on how the new surgery worked out and also what Tony alluded to about him not being willing to play on artificial turf. If it's accurate that he refuses to play on artificial turf he'll have to retire because there aren't a lot of stadiums with natural grass, LOL

AR's guys have worked out so well for us so far.

That is one possibility. It is also possible that he's so out of shape that even a long kick step can no longer account for a lack of athleticism.
