Thoughts about the off season thus far

Just wondering what your thoughts are about the off season moves so far.
Personally I am underwhelmed. Id grade JDs moves to date a D. The addition of Moses on the surface seems good but, a 33 year old RT on a one year deal with several top RT's guaranteed to be available in the draft seems to be a bit of a waste. Especially when you had him on the roster and didn't make any attempts to keep him. I'm guessing the thought process is JD now has options in round 1.
Resigning the kickers was great.
Restructuring Mosley was a good move , but the first player JD is trying to sign with the cap space freed up is Clowney . Should have kept Huff, and attempted to get a quality WR.
Offense is just not a priority for Douglas.

Unspectacular, but sort of a working man's offseason. Many of the holes have been addressed, though not with flashy names. You don't need superstars in every position, and if the likes of Simpson, Moses, and Taylor can be average, that is a pretty substantial upgrade.

Underwhelming is a good way to put it. Offseason isn't over yet and he may surprise us, but so far I feel like he's been bargain shopping instead of aggressively trying to add talent to the roster.

I'm not judging JD until the dust has settled. We know that other franchises have more cap room and are more attractive destinations. We know that passing Buffalo and Miami next season is an unrealistic expectation. A competent NFL offense is a reasonable ambition.

I'm not getting rid of anybody just to prove a point. Make Becton a sensible offer, perhaps with better players inside him he looks better; he's probably more durable than Bakhtiari. If another franchise wants to push the boat out, sayonara. Perhaps Lazard can be a reasonable #3 with his mate Rodgers at QB, I'm loathe to pay him to play somewhere else. Maybe Zach is a competent #3 QB for the last year of his contract, if nobody else wants that contract I'm not paying him to beat us in a 'revenge game'.

Becton is repeatedly signing with the Bengals

Edit : (Reportedly) . But he is repeatedly refilling his buckets at the buffet.

We still need a backup plan and depth. If Becton doesn’t get a deal elsewhere, sign him on a “go earn it” deal.

Our coaches offense oriented in the past gave us our lousy clown show rep, while our defensive coaches who were talented, ignored the offense. Rex and Saleh to name a couple. We never got that balance since Parcells and jumping back to Weeb. Bless our loyalty.

Looks like Fields got dealt for a 2025 6th round pick that could be a 4th. Zach Wilson’s value is the Jets will have to give a pick for someone to take him.

Free Agency is a better predictor than a draft pick evaluation-wise. A draft pick high can be a bust, or you can get a winner from a day 3 guy. A free agent has his bathroom habits on record at a GM's leisure, besides on field performance as an NFLer. Just try not to change the position's market when drafting if possible.

After the past few days and supposedly Mike Williams is visiting tomorrow, we may have adequately plugged our holes. That will open up the draft strategy and hopefully we are looking at a vastly different offense come next season.
