Gipson to be cut

Insiders reporting that Gipson will be cut today. Seems a bit harsh for one mistake, even 'King' Henry had a fumble on Sunday (which changed momentum yadda yadda). Plenty of blame to go round for the defeat, including poor play from Stephens and dumb clock management by Glenn before halftime. Is this going to set an awkward precedent for a Fields INT or Hall fumble against the Bills?

Aaron Glenn is not playing and I love it. It won’t set an awkward precedent IMO because you treat players fair but you don’t treat them all equal. Fields and Breece are two premier players on this team and you need them. They are not easily replaceable. Gibson has been pretty much inconsistent and unreliable since he’s been here and it appears this was his last chance with the Jets. So it had to be done. Hold the players accountable AG!

As somebody pointed out in the NY Post comments, you KNOW that he will now be picked up by one of our Division rivals and take a kick return to the house against us, amid much chortling from the comms.

In a possibly related move, Keilan Robinson RB/KR has been signed to the PS and poor old Toafili RB has been released again with barely time to move his kit into his locker.

newyorkjets.com reports that Gipson has been cut and Isaiah Williams WR/KR has been signed, because you can't have too many Williams's. Presumably he is signed to the 53 because he was apparently on the Bengals PS.

Glenn is really taking this fumble to heart, we will have a squad of 53 kick returners by the end of the week!

Don't think it's one mistake, more a culmination of poor play and mistakes over his career

Yes, but Garrett brings value and Gipson never did.

I agree He should have made the catch but Wilson is not an issue. Gipson has never impressed me and was a "favorite" of the previous Staff. I was surprised he survived TC and final cuts for that reason.

The only player who has performed consistently well since He was drafted.
No problem with that guy.
