Don't know if this was brought up on another thread so excuse me if it has but Jace Amaro calls out the old regime. In a recent interview Jace stated that players last year weren't held accountable for a lot of things. Showing up late for practice, not playing as hard etc-etc. Don't have the link but this pretty much sums it up. Jace also says how much he's looking forward to playing for Bowles. He stated that Bowles holds the team accountable on everything and either you get with the program or you won't be a Jet. Love it! We might have team worth talking about this year and from now on period Jets faithful. J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets

Confirming what we all knew and/or expected. Camp "No Worries My Man!" is over. Imagine that: people have to be on time for work and accountable. What a concept.

apparently rookie TE's weren't held accountable for dropped passes last year either..

just catch the ball son & save the bridge burning for established veterans..

besides absolutely nothing amaro said is new information..

agreed, Amaro was amongst the league leaders in drops with 8 despite only playing 23% of offensive snaps. He needs to worry about catching the damn ball and not about Rex Ryan. Rex's NFL career will be long, maybe not as a HC, but affiliated with the NFL. amaro keeps dropping balls and he'll be gone after his rookie deal.

Amaro has a way to go but he led all rookie TE last year with 38 receptions for 350 yards..with a predominantly running team..also 20 catches out of 38 were for first downs....

he will have to lower the drop percent...but also..I think drops get more magnifies when Jets were always playing behind and every first down was hard to come by....and maybe it irritated him guys late or what now..I am never late for work..and I hate when guys under me are late..especially when they nonchalent it...you get paid to do a job show up on freaking time..

Jets used to have another TE who was more receiver than blocker who dropped a lot of passes at the beginning of his career having boos rained down on him in Shea every time it happened. Don't know what he did to change that but he did and became a great Jet going to probowls and even switched to WR. His name? Rich Caster.

My brother-in-law used to call him 'Stone-hands'. As I recall, Caster was long and lean and built nothing like a TE back then.

Amaro will be one of the premier NFL QB probably starting this season with Gailey as OC and Fitzpatrick as QB

Not sure he has earned any right or credibility to call out his head coach or offensive co-ordinator.

Mangold, Richardson, and Demario Davis all mentioned the same during the 2014 season. It's certainly not a surprise what Amaro said.

None of them needed to speak out anyone with eyes could see this was the case all they had to do was look at how the team performed and was disciplined.

True, but it also shows that this team's problems went way beyond the talent level. They were increasingly sloppy (penalties) and out of control (in-fighting, tardiness) over the last few seasons, and that's directly on the coach. That's on Rex.

It is definitely on Rex..but veteran guys have to call out and pull other guys up..I am the Captain of a firehouse with 3 lieutenants and 17 guys under me..I do set rules.you cant do anything with talent, but effort is all self driven and discipline...but I cannot be there 24 hours a day...if guys..are messing up, being late and not pulling their weight and putting the effort in..I expect the senior guys to also take leadership roles and tell them to get their Sh*T togather....its called leadership...

Exactly what I was thinking, all this does is make him look like a self entitled tool. Got to wonder what the veterans think of a guy that's proved so little spouting off like this.

Not sure what you could have been looking at last year that would give you this kind of confidence in a kid that could barley hold on to the ball last year. He should be serviceable TE if he can learn to catch the ball but expecting him to become a "premier TE" this year? I'd say you have a better chance of him becoming a "premier QB" like you originally stated.

It's just a case of a young guy answering a reporters question. The reporter probably baited Amaro to say something about accountability. He'll learn to bite his tongue when asked comparison questions.

Much ado about nothing. As a lot of posters have mentioned, you didn't have to be a genius to see that Rex ran a loose ship and accountability and discipline were very light under his watch.

Buffalo will be very good for a couple of years because his players will enjoy playing under Rex as a counterpoint to Marrone. But then the same pattern will repeat. Rex's lack of discipline and his lack of holding his players accountable will catch up to him and he will run the Bills into the ground. We've all seen this movie before.

I agree for the most part, you just never like hearing that kind of thing from a young player, especially one with so little cred at this point. The Vets will probably have a little conversation with him.
