I would have done the same if we had Mettenberger. Too soon to bail. Better off taking an impact player elsewhere and giving Mettenberger a chance to develop. IMO you did the right thing, and I suspect Tennessee will do likewise if they don't trade the pick, thats why I don't think its out of the question that Mariota can slide to 6.

except in your mock there are no trades, and in real life, there's a very good chance someone in the top 5 makes a trade. so while i agree it's not out of the question, i think there's a pretty good chance someone moves up to grab mariota before the jets get a crack at him

I think its more likely someone trades up for Mariota than someone currently in the TOP 5 taking him ahead of us.
