Grade the Jets Draft

I gave it an A+. Williams was not a need pick, but still will be a force to contend with. Rds 2 through 7 were awesome. We drafted players who have a strong chance of being exceptional players. My only concern was we did not do much to address the Offensive line. We added quality everywhere else. FA and a few signings after the draft have been very good.

Best Jets draft I've seen in decades, thats my initial impression, but we won't know for sure for two or three years.
Incidentally I'm counting the UDFA's, Taiwan Jones and Wes Saxton, as part of the equation.

oddly i "only" gave it an A. i took off a little for smith.
I thought that was the best :need" pick!
An absolute burner... plays faster than his 40 time and tracks the ball like Desean running at full speed.
Williams was a best value pick but Smith was a need.
I wanted another player at that spot, but I do agree with you. He is a burner and should develop into a quality player.
Gave it an "A". Best draft since Mangold/Ferguson draft.
Gave it a B+ only because we didn't trade our 7th for Rodgers.
Maccagnan and Bowles did a terrific job in this draft. Grade A. Drafting Williams and not reaching for White was very smart and absolutely the right move. D. Smith is a perfect fit for this receiving corps. The Jets needed a home run deep threat. The LB from Louisville sounds like a player. Add in Bryce Petty in the 4th, and some depth players at guard and DT, and then Zach Stacey in the 7th. And you have to add in Brandon Marshall. It doesn't get much better than that in any draft. If Petty turns out to be a starter and a good one, this is an A+ draft.
It was an A for me... I am with Nick here. I want to see the production on the field. But the first 4 picks are home runs... JMO

2. Smith - Not the WR I would have taken Would have taken a shot on DGB, but definitely the type of WR we needed, a burner. And my 2nd choice at that spot. so still happy with this pick
3. Mouldin - Big, Fast, high motor. This guy play much faster than what any #'s say.
4. Petty - I love this pick more than anything we have done all season. This kid with the right coaching has some serious upside.

They needed an OT and didn't manage to get one. Ferguson and Mangold will not play well for too much longer. Mac should have gotten some young buck to learn behind Nick and Brick.
Deon Simon in the 7th? What a f*cking wasted pick. On a team LOADED with DL, they go with another? What in the hell were they thinking? Anyway, count that as flushing a perfectly good 7th round draft choice down the toilet.
The rest of the draft was EXCELLENT, but those two gaffes prevent this from being an "A" draft. So I gave them a "B".
