HYATT™ couldn't, in all honesty, go higher than a B+
Not enamored with the choice of WR, not with DG-B, Strong, Funchess, Conley, & Coates still available.
It strikes HYATT™ as flash over future, fool's gold, sorta. Smith will probably turn out to be an adequate receiver, but at #37 it could have been so much more. Hill hangover effect, HYATT™ suspects - they were afraid to walk out on that "high ceiling raw prospect" limb again.
Cudda bin werse, I suppose - they cudda reached for Lockett.
HYATT™ is also disappointed in the trade back from #70, where they COULD have gotten Eli Harold, instead of settling for Mauldin - even if it did result in a 5th back.
Finally, HYATT™ really is NOT impressed with the drafting of Petty.
Yes, he's probably slightly better than GeNOT's ceiling will ever be, but he's no franchise QB and never will be.
Brandon Bridge and Jerry Lovelocke are yer typical development QBs with a higher ceiling, and both went UDFA.
Maybe if they had taken Petty for only a Rd 5 pick it would have felt better, but odds are he would have gone before that.
It just felt like a desperation move to HYATT™, and those are never good choices.
Bryce Petty, (androgynous name, that - I have a woman friend named Bryce), is like some dates you may have had.
You really enjoy watching her come, but you'll enjoy watching her go even more.
(There's an old dirty joke in there somewhere.)
<Yawn>
Right now Jets fans are full of endorphins, it's a new love affair, but before too long, things will start to sour and it'll feel more like a shotgun wedding, HYATT™ promises you.
Until then, enjoy the high and pay no attention to the little bald man behind the green font.
