Would you sign La’El Collins once he is cleared?

MacBowles have more skill, intelligence and ability in their left pinky toe nails than your man crush WRECKS has in his entire body, the formerly obese one OR the currently slimmer version

Well perhaps Maccagnan and Bowles are as smart as Rex Ryan? Maybe their lazy in comparison? If there's a loophole and Rex Ryan is allowed to exploit it, perhaps Mac and Bowles should get off their fat a$$es and start to do the same. As it is right now, Rex Ryan is the only GENIUS in this situation especially if he ultimately signs with the Bills. In a situation like this you should strike while the iron is hot and Rex Ryan gets it.

Good heavens, you sure love Rex. My goodness!

I'm not sure I'd want the guy if it even was within the rules to visit him.

But you're right. Rex is the genius and Maccagnan and Bowles are lazy and stupid.

I tend to have a hard time with sarcasm in posts sometimes hard to detect but this time no problem at all.

We got rid of a great defensive coordinator posing as a competent head coach, and brought in a very good defensive mind and a GM with an extensive scouting background who just nailed this off season via FA and the draft.

Get off their lazy asses? That's good stuff.

Something seems wrong with this situation. If he was not somewhat of a suspect then he would already cleared. It just seems like he's involved in some way.

The Dolphins, unlike the dumbass circus clown apparently know the rules about not meeting with undrafted players prior to the end of final exams for their college.

Dolphin players and some former LSU teammates met with Collins after the draft....no team officials

OTOH, WRECKS waddled down to Baton Rouge and jumped into recruiting Collins with both FEET with a dinner session at a local restaurant in clear violation of NFL rules.

No problem. He can probably plead ignorance of that rule same as the 11 men on the field at one time rule, the how to manage the clock rules and most other rules he has proven to be ignorant about

This. The NFL owners aren't a bunch of choirboys. They must have turned up some reason to back off right now. Essentially they kept it a "La'el Collins problem", didn't make it a team problem and a league problem, where they would have to answer questions about it and become linked to the situation.

Curious if Rex put himself in a position where the cops might want to speak to him about what was said - the only reason to talk to him was to vett him regarding the situation (to the point you can, anyway).

Maybe Rex was sent undercover and he was wearing a wire.

They would not have wanted him to go back down South if they only wanted to talk to him for informational purposes in the investigation. Of course, without evidence, they can't consider him a suspect, but they could have considered him a potential suspect. But they wouldn't say, "Hey, La'el, come on back down here. We think you may have murdered your ex-girl, but we don't know for sure. If you come down here and talk with us, we'll have a better idea of whether to throw you in jail or not."

If teams didn't think this was a HUGE problem, he would have gotten drafted. A first round talent falling completely out of the draft? Someone would have used a late pick on him if they expected him to be available this season.

Report: Giants “in the mix” for La’el Collins

We’re starting to get more of an idea about the teams that are potential landing spots for La’El Collins as an undrafted free agent and the group reportedly includes the Giants.

Jordan Raanan of NJ.com reports that the Giants are “in the mix” for the prospective first-round pick who was passed over by all 32 teams many times because teams were uncomfortable drafting him while police in Baton Rouge wanted to speak to him as part of a double murder investigation. Collins had that conversation with police on Monday and is not a suspect in the case.

“We thought about La’El the whole draft because he was sitting up there,” vice president of player evaluation Marc Ross said. “But we were gonna pass on that.”

The Giants took tackle Ereck Flowers with their first-round pick, but Raanan reports that they see Collins as a guard at the NFL level. With underwhelming play across the line last season, Collins would join Flowers as a serious contender for early playing time wherever he might wind up if he landed in Jersey.

Should pursuit of Collins progress to following the Dolphins’ players lead and sending former LSU teammates to talk to him, the Giants could enlist last year’s first-round pick Odell Beckham to do some recruiting. The team can’t send any officials to meet with Collins on campus until May 9.

So does that mean that Ryan is in violation of league rules? If so, what are the potential penalties, fine and maybe suspension like Cleveland's GM? Would love to see that knucklehead (Ryan) get put in his place.

I can already hear the Circus Clown defense. The restaurant where he tried to recruit Collins in violation of NFL rules, while in Baton Rouge where the LSU campus is located, was probably across the street from the physical University campus.

If the Waffle House doesn't fit on the campus, you must acquit will be Rex's Johnny Cochrane position

Rex and La'el met to see who could put down more BBQ pork spare ribs. They didn't talk ANY football.

Nothing to see here, folks.

Key-REIST, you people are worse than the old hens at my mother in laws tea clutch.
La'el Collins took a LIE DETECTOR TEST before the draft, and passed with flying colors.
GMs were then called and informed of this - and STILL they would not draft him.
WHY?
Because the OPTICS were bad, coming so closely on the heels of the Hernandez verdict.
Evil-EL told every GM in no uncertain terms - thou shalt not soil the NFL name by drafting a prospect who has the remotest possible connection to a murder.

The corrupt and lazy Baaaaa-tawn-Rooj Po-LICE have talked to Collins now, and he has provided a host of witnesses that put him far far away from where Ms Mills was murdered in her home.
Of course they will never "clear" his name, because they still haven't caught the person apparently well-known by her, (she was reportedly VERY careful about opening her door to strangers), who apparently came to her door to borrow her car and shot her dead when she refused multiple times during the conversation, to give it to that person.
(According to a neighboring witness's account of what transpired at Ms. Mills' home on the night of the murder at around 10:30 PM.)

There is no "there" there, there never was any "there" there, other than Collins' connection to Ms Mills was coincidental to the time of the conception of her now deceased 8 month old fetus/baby.

And yet, I see person after person STILL insinuating he MIGHT have had something to do with her murder.
You dumb clucks just keep on cackling imagined gossip.

Heart goes out to this kid. How can he exonerate himself? What can he do? Short of the police finding the killer and getting a confession or incontrovertible evidence. Really tough situation

Wish we had spent 7th round pick on him and made some announcement about how we hope that he will be in a position to play football. As I said at the time, I thought the PR was manageable with the right sort of statement.

Sad for this guy if he is innocent - and there is more and more indication that he is.
