His cerebral got rung.
He has been making bonehead decisions before that hit, but you're right. It couldn't have helped.
His cerebral got rung.
Too early for him to peak, perhaps even too early for him to win, but not too early for us to get an idea of what he is. If he has a future, the trained eye will see flashes of it, and thats all I need to know. I need to know how we need to approach the draft where it pertains to the most important position on the field.Too early.
And I don't mean in this season. I mean in his development. Rushing QBs gave us Sanchez, gave us Geno. Let's actually allow him to develop and get the system, so when he does go out there, he is 100% ready.

And what? Put him in a little glass trophy case and look at him and then draft a high pick on a QB???
I disagree, let the kid learn on the job. Only weak minded people like Smith and Sanchez fall behind mentally from losing and learning from his and the team mistakes. Petty doesn't seem like kind of a kid.No point in putting Petty in. With the way this team is playing it will stunt his growth.
at this point Petty would get killed behind our offensive line especially with Mangold likely out for awhile...
Just put Geno in, bench Fitzpatrick and hope Geno can be smart with the ball...
What an awful awful game. It's probably the worst one this season and that's saying much.
We've only gotten downhill after Bill Belicheck showed the world how to defend us.
Petty hasn't had enough time to study defenses. A half season isn't enough time.
What a huge letdown. Reality is here. We know who the 2015 Jets are. A brief glimpse of something special, followed by another inexcusable performance. This team has too much talent to play so poorly over the last 5 weeks. It is unimaginable to me that Yates just outplayed Fitzpatrick, and our secondary got lit up the way they did.
Talk about crashing back down to Earth. Bowles has got a lot of soul searching to do this week. Whatever he's trying, it ain't working.
Because you know?
What does that tell you: Yates outplayed Fitz.
YOU'RE RIGHTAnd what? Put him in a little glass trophy case and look at him and then draft a high pick on a QB???
With all due respect Elias: What makes you an expert on Petty; the press?

on 4th down & 5 why in the fuck would you go to Devin Smith

We need to know because it directly effects the most valuable commodity in the draft, our first round pick. Why do we need to know? Does that help his growth if you or I know, or don't know?
You may want to know. But you don't need to know, and neither do I. We don't have a voice in the room. We have no say in that decision. The people who do see Petty every day in practice and in team meetings.
YOU'RE RIGHT
I usually respect other peoples opinions, I don't have all the answers, my opinion is just my opinion and I could be wrong, but if you are reluctant to find out what we have in Petty now, I don't want to hear you telling me that we need to spend a first round pick on a QB in the draft, or more than a first round pick to trade up for a QB. If you say you don't want to see Petty now, fine, but then don't turn around and say we have to sell the farm for a QB in the draft.
