In my opinion there's only one tough team in the AFC and that's the Pats. Denver can be beaten. Have a great defense but their offense cant produce.

Get us into the playoffs Bowles, and anything can happen. Need to take care of business first with the Giants game. Win all the winnable games we can win.

Giant fans are delusional
First they should be undefeated .
They win the SB every 4 years it's their right.
Wash game was a Gimmie
Carl Banks " the Giants raised their level against NE now they take it the rest of the season "

Totally agree and I actually had this exact same conversation with a friend of mine earlier tonight. There are no dominant teams as I see it. The Patriots are as close as it gets, and I don't even look a them as dominant. Maybe they would have been had they stayed healthy, but they have suffered some serious injuries and I don't look at them as a team you have to get lucky to beat. I mean, when we played them the first time (and they were much healthier then), did you come away from that game thinking the gap between the Jets and Patriots is too wide, that we can't compete with this team?

Of course not, it can be argued that we outplayed NE in that game and basically beat ourselves, but even if you want to credit the Pats, that was a hotly contested game and by no means were we out-classed in that game, and I agree with you that the Pats are the best team in football, so if they are not a dominant team we can't possibly beat, WHO IS?

If this Jets team can just get into the dance, we'll have a chance to make some noise.

We may be underdogs, but we won't be out-classed, we'll have a chance in those games, we just have to GET THERE!!!

AFC WILDCARD STANDINGS

  1. (6-5) KC Chiefs
[*](6-5) Houston Texans --- (6-5) Colts currently own AFC South tiebreaker
    [*](6-5) NY JETS
    [*](6-5) Pittsburgh Steelers
    [*](5-6) Oakland Raiders
    [*](5-6) Buffalo Bills
===

Other than our own game, these are the games with serious AFC Wildcard implications next week.

(6-5) TEXANS @ (5-6) BILLS

Its in our best interest to root for the Bills.

(6-5) CHIEFS @ (5-6) RAIDERS

Its in our best interest to root for the Raiders.

(6-5) COLTS @ (6-5) STEELERS

Houston is in a fight with Indy for the AFC South Division Title, both 6-5 with Indy owning the tiebreaker, so its very possible that we will ultimately be challenging Indy and not Houston for the Wildcard. That said, we own the H2H tiebreaker over Indy, its one of the few that we own, so it behooves us to root for the Colts in this one, its better if Pittsburgh a game behind us provided we beat the Giants, but its not as clear-cut.

Bottom line: Indy or Houston will win the AFC South, so ultimately we'll only be batting one of them for a Wildcard, not both, and ideally Houston will win that division because we own the first tiebreaker over Indy, so if Houston does beat Buffalo, then its probably to our benefit if Pittsburgh beats Indy, or maybe its still better if Pittsburgh loses, tough to say.

Wow. What a great football lineup next week. Many games with serious implications

Correct me if i'am wrong, but the last time the Jets beat the Giants was in 1993 right? Thats when we won 10-6 as Phil Simms threw it into the endzon and Ronnie Lott picked it off.

Time is over due to own them this sunday!

I was pretty happy yesterday, but after thinking about it and watching this team this year I'm not that pumped. We beat one of the worst teams in the NFL. Until we get to 10 wins, I won't be that excited. Don't get me wrong I loved the win and expect one every week until the Pats. I also know they are capable of losing each week. I was actually more excited the Pats lost than when the Jets won. I hate that this organization has made me feel this way.

I hear what you are saying. As I was pleased with the win, I never expected greatness this year so I'm quite reserved about any sort of playoff possibilities. In my mind, this year is about restocking the shelves with young talent while hopefully changing the culture of the team.

If we win the next 3, then I will start to get excited. And playoffs would sure be nice.

Revis on their #2WR and Cro and Gilchrist defending ODB is the way to go.

Honestly I don't care who is on ODB; Williams, Revis or Cro... We need to have him doubled with a Safety over the top regardless... Now my personal preference is for Cro to be on ODB..... Why you ask:

Neither Williams nor Revis will fall for the double move or the QB pump fake... Cro will; which with a safety over the top will take away the big play cause the Safety will be there for the coverage... Let Revis, Skrines and Williams lock down everyone else and Rush 5 or 6 every time on Eli.... Get him pressured he will make mistakes....
