I would feel a lot better about this game if Revis and Marcus Williams weren't both likely to sit this one out.
That means this game entirely falls on the pass rush.
If the D-line and OLB's don't take advantage of a banged-up Giants O-line and put consistent heat on Eli, Beckham will torch us and Eli will pick us apart. He's a below average QB prone to mistakes if you pressure him, but he'll pick you apart if you don't, especially with a depleted secondary. This game is on the Jets pass rushers.
This is where i'am enjoying what i've seen of Coach Bowles. Like the people he played under, the coaches he learned from and where he is most knowledgable is holding players accountable.
One thing for sure at the start of the season, the position of strength at depth was Cornerback. With D.Revis & M.Williams out, i fully expect Dee Milliner to be chomping at the bit to showcase why he was drafted 9th over all in 2009. I'am sure he's felt every negative sound there is to deter him from feeling confident. From seeing his playing time diminish. To being labeled Injury prone. To even hearing that he will be cut after the season.
This is his time. If there was ever a point at a cross roads, why not vs one of the best WR's in the game? This is where he needs to seize his opportunity. Dee and Dexter McDougal will have a great chance today to showcase that this defense can continue to not skip a beat, even if their best DB is out for the game.
I'am probably alone here, but i still have confidence in Dee Milliner.
