Reasonable expectations or maybe not?

flgreen i can live without making the playoffs at 10-6 so long as the loss is to not buffalo..

the would be a mind numbing scenario for obvious reasons..

Will be super unhappy if the jets go 10-6 and miss the play-offs. 3 Games that IMO they were the better team, and lost. (I know best team that day always wins)

If the Bills knock them out, I will be way beyond pissed.

10-6 gets you in most years but then ask yourself why we aren't 8-4 today?? cause that's our record just winning one of the three games we had no business losing..

*sigh* self inflicted wounds..

more than a handful here (myself included) thought fitzpatrick could get us between 9-11 wins, especially when the D looked like world beaters.. so no, i'm not buying "the jets are exceeding expectations" mindset & 10-6 would not be a moral victory for me either..

but it would be a damn good record for a team that lost 4 out of 5 mid season with a rookie coach..

Jets have to come to play, PERIOD and have no room for erra. Being that they lost three games IMO (Bills, Eagles and Texans) that they had no business losing. Especially to the Bills in your home against Rex Ryan coming back for his first on National Fucking TV. There was just no excuse for that!

Now it appears the consensus is we don't think the Jets will win all four and we believe they can win three of the four games. Hopefully they gives that much atleast and can still make the playoffs at 10-6. They have to beat the Bills this time for so many reason. We all know what they are so let's go Jets, let's go!

Not sure why we should be so miserable about 9 wins.

We would have improved from 4 wins and played a full season with a good QB for the first time since 2000 after six seasons of the worst QBs in the NFL

Id prefer 10 and a WC but cant see the angst, anger, teeth gnashing and bridge jumping over 9

Lots of plusses

Because we as Jets fans all know the Jets are better then 9 wins. The Jets organization knows this also. We all know, including the Jets know that there were three games that should have not lost. The Raiders game they got manhandled and the Pats game was hard fought but the Pats (mainly Brady) beat them on his own. Hard to swallow but being that the Pats have been doing this for a decade or so now, its easier to swallow.

The Texans, Eagles and especially the Bills losses were embarrassments. Especially the Bills game. To let Rex Ryan come back in his first game and allow him to win in a Primetime game was really not cool. We all know this and know the Jets are better then all theee of those teams. So NO, 9 wins is a failure with the way this team traded and signed FAs this year, the way they drafted and the way they played.

That team last year was a disaster that Rex and Idzik put together and the record was no surprise. No surprise they both got fired also. This year Mac and Bowles did a outstanding job in rebuilding this team and the way the Jets have played, they are better then 9 wins and there is no getting around that. Last year was last year and this year is this year!

Right. Let's beat the Titans before we start wondering about the rest of the season. Being a longtime Jet fan, I have seen way too many games where the opponents have sub - 0.500 records, the Jets really should win easily, then somehow manage to lose. First things first.

Also, thankfully, IK took care of the third major culprit in the 2014 debacle and he was only able to piss away one game in Oakland in 2015

So your blaming that lose on Geno? Lol, come on really dude what game were you watching? The Jets got manhandled that game and any QB on our roster wasn't going to stop that. The Raiders offense moved the ball up and down the field like it was a 7 on 7 drill against a D-2 college second string squad. So that was Geno's fault also huh? Geno is a bum and we all know this but that game was the Raiders from the coin toss. Defense sucked that game and there was nothing Fitz would have done any different to stop that.

i agree. Raiders game was terrible and the defense was destroyed. Only game that we were outmatched all season.

Problem is the last two division games. First off, division games will always be hard in any division PERIOD. With the Bills and Pats for the Jets, it's added extra that any football fan would know about. You don't need to be a Jets fan to know about the hatred between the Jets and Pats. So the Pats will never do us any favors. With the Bills, there is the Rex factor and whether their in the the playoff race or not by week 17, they will do all they can to knock us out. Jets had their chance to win the game in Metlife and blow it. Now they have to make amends in Buffalo and that won't be easy. NE is NE so that won't be either. Besides the Titans and Cowboys games, the Jets have to beat either the Pats or Bills or they won't get in the playoffs a 9-7 team. 10 wins or better will only do it for our Jets.

The Jets looked like a better team than the Bills; we just can't afford to give any punt or kickoff returns for a TD. The Pats are a beatable team without Gronk and at home. We'll see how that goes but a lot of prayers for that to happen.

Gronk will be back when we play the Pats

The very last game against the Bills is going to be pivotal. We NEED to win against Tennessee and Dallas. These are winnable games, even with Dallas being an away game. It's possible that we take New England in our house, but it will be a tough game. At Buffalo will be very tough.

We have to win the next two, and definitely against Buffalo. Not sure it matters so much whether we beat NE or not.
From a philosophical standpoint it's probably actually better to LOSE the NE game.
Sounds weird, HYATT™ knows, but beating a team 3X in one season is extremely hard to do.
Just ask the 2007 & 2011 NE Patriots. (You have to add in their preseason games to get that.)
