At what point did you know the season was over and Geno wasn't our future QB?

I gotta take this one from a Jets insider brother on scout.com. At what point did you know the season was over Jets faithful? For me, it was the the Chargers game. I was still hopeful for Geno, SLIGHTLY HOPEFUL! The Bills game I knew it was a wrap for Geno as well.

Geno throws 3 straight ints in the first quarter, Vick looked OK but nothing worth talking about and our D couldn't stop the Bills with Orton at QB. At that point, I knew Geno wasn't our guy and not only was the season over but I was rooting for them to lose the rest of their games for the QB (Winston and Mariota) race draft pick.

When he was drafted. Told everyone it was a bad pick.

He did have a perfect QB rating vs Miami. I know he is not our future, but he may still be our short term QB until we can groom someone else. We are going to be a top 10 pick for many years I think.

I think I knew our goose was cooked this season sometime around Halloween. As for Geno, I'm still not sure he's not the guy. It used to take NFL QB's 4 or 5 years on the bench before they were ready to step in. I still think Geno may need a couple more years to develop. Of course, I don't think he'll be given the chance. At least not with the Jets.

4-5 years is way to long now a days. Especially in NY-NJ. I say 3 years max a QB has to show a team and the fans something or its a wrap. Every since the Sanchez fiasco, I say a QB has to show me something positive in two years. Not saying he has to make the pro bowl or win us a SB that quick but show me you truly can be our guy or I'm ready to cut bait. I know that's probably unfair but this is the NFL (Not For Long) and life ain't fair period.

I could almost understand that after the Kotite years but it turned around in year one with the Tuna just like the Fins did going from 1-15 to 11-5 under Sparano.. I never can understand why pessimistic thought seems to make some fans feel good...

I still feel Geno could be serviceable but this year was crap from the start...I was optimistic but knew it was a struggle waiting to happen especially when CB after CB went down

Pessimism and realism are two different thoughts. I'm realistic. Tuna is not coming back!!

LOLz i was wrong when i posted here that the miami win was meaningless.. quite the opposite..

by playing his best game as a pro smith put the jets that much further away from drafting his replacement..

LOLz i guess his self preservation instincts kicked in..

The Dolphins probably let Geno have a great game knowing that the Jets would buy into it and keep him as their starter for another year or two.
