The Alabama WR can ball, we didn't f--k it up, we actually drafted a good football player who can help our young QB's.

Mac not only got a mulligan for the teams abysmal performance in 2016, now he gets to trade away his first 2nd ounder in Devin Smith? Talk about a charmed life? Mac is the most wretched dumb shit that just gets more chances than anyone I've ever seen.

Wait. He picks a guy who can help the team, and it's another reason to bash him for a previous injury bust?

I mean, if that's the case, every pick they make is either a bad pick because it's a position of need and they hadn't addressed it earlier, or it's not a position of need and they wasted their pick.

Now, if we can only figure out who that QB is.

The smart part about a guy like Stewart is, he's a very physical receiver. That means that when a young QB throws a bad ball (and every young QB will occasionally throw a bad ball), Stewart is the type of WR who will go up and fight for it. It's a good asset to have for a team looking at using a young QB, just like a big-framed WR and a solid receiving TE are.

I just don't understand it. Nearly everyone on this site has said 2017 will be a rebuilding year, despite the word coming out of Florham Park. The consensus, I thought, is to add talent. Well, that's what Mac is doing. Adams is a grand slam. Marcus Maye is a terrific player. He has what no one on the current roster has...smarts and leadership. Do they need help on offense? Yes. More help on defense. Absolutely. But the goal this year wasn't to fill the remaining holes needed to get us into the playoffs and further. It was and is to get players. INTELLIGENT players. We will see something this season that we haven't seen in many, many years. A second round pick starting and contributing.

I think Adams and Maye will form a dynamic safety duo. They'll be interchangeable. They will be leaders out there. They will make the cornerbacks better. They will make the linebackers better. And they don't need Gilchrist on the team next year saving $6mm.

Adarius Stewart is a solid pick in round 3 although I would have preferred Elflein.

looking between where the jets traded out of and where they picked stewart, the only offensive skilled player taken was taywan taylor, wr from western kentucky.

now we don't know who they would have taken if they stayed put. could have been o-line help or a LBer. but given the need for offensive weapons, it doesn't look like they lost out on anyone by moving down and picked up an extra 5th for the effort. for all we know, they may have taken stewart in the original spot

The nest time I see him, I'll ask him. The first time I met him (in the elevator of the apartment building we lived in), IIRC, I asked him if he thought Keith Lincoln was a very good player.

The Vikings got the better deal from a value chart perspective.

There was a 40 Point Gap between 70 and 79, the 5th they gave us is only worth 28 Points, so we lost 12 Points of value in the trade.

We should have demanded their 4th (54 Points) or at least that they throw in a 6th to make up the 12 Points difference.
