some kids love the bright lights & others would just as soon play in a cleveland or a jacksonville..

The question is, if you're looking for a franchise QB to get you to the Super Bowl, which would you rather have? Someone who loves the big stage, or someone who shies away from it?

The kid is playing at USC... I don't think he'd be against the bright lights and big city that is New York.... Now whether he comes out or not we shall see but there are at least 4 other QB that could go top 10-15 without him. Personally I am rooting for Hack or Petty to be the guy and show the signs that we have our QB on the roster already and we can gill other needs.... But if we go 3-13 and we are picking in the top 3 I am ok with that too.. This will be a stress free year for me.... Cause no matter what happens I think it's gonna be a win, win for us. And I am not by no means expecting a winning season... If we go 6-10 or 7-9 with Hack or Petty and they show the signs of a good young developing QB that's the best I am hoping for.

I would tend to try to stay away from USC QBs. This guy would have to be almost a sure thing before I tanked for him.

I will be stress free as well. Interesting to see what we have. The Jets have NEVER done this before. They have always gone after big FA"s and stayed mediocre. My dream season is Petty or Hack show promise and we lose every game by less than a TD while beating the Pats twice.

good point.. i don't follow college football & forgot the consensus top QB potentially coming out is from USC..

that's easy.. the one who loves the big stage..

still, the jets are in no position to pass on a close to sure thing franchise QB, regardless of his preference to stages..

Let's say that happens and they show promise do you still draft the qb?

I'm reading posts about the veteran leadership that the Jets cut away, Really??
What was it, week THREE when the locker room imploded??
Where the f was all this veteran leadership then?
Who was going to say something, Revis? That guy was laughing all the way to the bank every week.
Mangold? it's hard to listen to a guy that's sitting on the training table, same goes for Decker who has been hurt two of the three seasons he's played for the Jets and at a very high salary to boot.
Marshall? Ha, Ha, Ha
Fitzpatrick? He's basically the reason everyone was fighting anyway.
Gilchrist? Did he even play last year, I don't remember seeing him, at all.
The point is the Jets went 5-11 last year with these players and looked like shit doing it.If that is the kind of leadership those players are going to provide, while getting paid top dollar, then the Jets don't need it.
I'd rather watch a team of hungry young players trying to win and get better week after week then a bunch of past their prime great players trying to hang onto yesterday or consistently injured players making a boatload of money to sit and watch the games.Either way it's not helping the Jets franchise.
