Meh, 5yds on first down is huge that dropped hurt the drive in Marshalls case and the FB had some open field to get a few more yds than 3.. So kinda important to move the chains in football and the drops hurt the rhythm of the offense. Especially a WC offense that is built on short to intermediate rhythmic passing and counting on the YAC....
Meh, not really true the ball the FB dropped #40 (can't recall his name) he had no open field. He dropped the ball at the 50 from a stationary position. Back turned to the opposing goal line. The DB #35 was all over him, and took him down the second he dropped the ball. There was not going to be any YAC.
Like i said no impact plays dropped. Every game has a dropped ball or two, and a lucky play or two that usually balance out. if there is a rash of dropped balls, or a wide open WR drops a 50 yard TD, it can dramatically impact the game. There was none of that. The WR's also played a pretty good game.
The lucky play for Hackenberg that more then balanced out the two minor drops was at 2.48 of the 2nd, from the Jets 10 yard line. Hack threw a very bad ball that hit a DL, ball bounced up into the air, and went right thru the arms of Tenn's #50. it would have been a pick 6. Very lucky play.
All n all Hack had a very nice game with the game plan that he was given. I'm happy with that. Lets see what he does against Detroit if they give him a full play book, and 1st team reps, which I think he earned with his performance against the Titans
