I stand corrected about the Jaquars. The way they played in Houston today against that defense with the emotions of what they just went through, I thought Jacksonville would lose by 20 atleast and it would carry over all year. Jaquars played tough and ran the ball down their throats. That only helps out Bortles and that young aggressive defense. Bortles just might turn out to be ok and the Jaquars will be a tough out. They appear to be good for 6-9 wins, if they keep playing like they did today. So I'm thinking the Bills will take their spot and lose about 12-13 games, along with the 49ers and we should be good for 14-15 losses atleast.

Jets are losing 15 and probably 16 games.

After watching the opener, the Jets are every bit as bad (probably worse) as advertised? IMO, they'll have an opportunity to win a game when they play the Jaguars? But if they don't win that game they could easily end the season at 0-16. Even their defense sucked yesterday. This is supposed to be Toilet's specialty, but he knows nothing about it. I've been watching this for about 25 games now? Toilet is supposed to be a defensive HC. You would think the defense would be ready to play on Sundays? Instead, this defense got manhandled again and the linebackers is where it all starts............

It's amazing what a QB does for an OL..... Hack is the problem this OL is above average...(starters). this is exactly what Colon was saying about Petty yesterday... In Practice with the 1's he said Petty looked good and the offense looked quick and efficient...

So knock the OL all you want guys but the QB making a wrong blitz call, making slow reads will make the best OL's look bad.

How did the OL look yesterday?

No way in hell the Jets beat the Jaguars. Not if the Jaguars continue to play like they did against the Texans. Jacksonville will beat the Jets by 30. Jets might have a chance to beat the Bills at home. Can't see them beating the Browns either. Say hello to 0-16 or 1-15 at best. If they play the Colts without Luck, they can beat them. That's the Jets best chance of winning, PERIOD!!!

I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing?

First of all, I didn't watch the Jags and really know nothing about them? I'll take your word for it that they are actually a MUCH better team than most are giving credit for.

I'll also side with you about the Browns. Coming into this season I saw NOTHING on the Browns, but that's changed since the draft. Based on the draft alone, I figure the Browns will likely beat the Jets? They added a lot of pieces through this draft, including a decent young QB that's probably already better than McCown.

But I also have trouble thinking the Jets can actually beat the Bills? The offense cannot score, but they moved the ball all day long against our defense. They had over 400 yards of total offense. Ideally, that should have equaled at least 35 to 40 points on the scoreboard?

But the most tell tale sign of them not being able to beat the Bills is our running game. This offense has no QB and therefore they MUST rely on the running game to get any sort of offense going. They were limited to less than 40 yards on the ground yesterday? Based on that I can't see them beating the Bills? The Bills are better than us on defense and certainly with running the ball. Like Toilet said in his after game Q and A session to the media, if you can't stop and your offense can't run the football? You've got a serious problem...........

Trust me, I watched the Jaguars game because there is no reason in hell to watch the Jets and the Jaqs are a tough team. They can win their division this year. Titans will be fighting hard to win the AFC South this year. As far as the Jets are concerned, I hope your right and I want them to lose all 16 games. Time to be able to choice which QB they want to draft and hopefully they make the right choice this time.

I know Bowles is the HC, but how can anyone be inspired to play for Kacy Rodgers?

Petty still gives the Jets the best chance at being competitive and worth watching.

AGREED. Maybe McCown throws 4 interceptions by the end of the 3rd quarter and Toilet is forced to try Petty in relief? It doesn't change us losing the game, but at least we get to see if Petty can improve with more playing time and playing with more talent?

I guess but he's been with the team for 3 or 4 years and hasn't been able to take the reigns yet. Tells me he's not the guy. Just like the fact that Hack couldn't beat out horrible ass McCown and Petty, tells me he isn't the answer either. Either you have or you don't and both Hack and Petty appear not to have it. Facts is facts!!!

How did the OL look yesterday?

Well lets see, McCown went to the line several times to change the OL protection based on his read of the defense and each time he changed it into the wrong protection causing the one sack... Now Bash the OL all you want they didn't play that bad. Nor did they play that great... But again watching McCown throw a slant to Robby Anderson that was behind him and at his ankles is part of the problem. How much better is the running game if he connects on a play like that, cause Robby would have taken that to the house if the throw is on point. All of a sudden they have to respect that play and back off the LOS and not have 7-8 in the box... The OL needs improvement I am not arguing they are great but they aren't a bad OL but when you have terrible QB play and a defense that has no respect for the QB cause they know the QB isn't gonna beat you it really puts the OL behind the 8ball... That's a fact you can't argue. You may want too and you very well might but until we have a QB behind them that can make a play and force the D to back off you will have your opinion and I will have mine. You think they suck I think they are average and only a good QB will prove which one of us is right.

How can Petty take the reigns when the Jets CS and FO refuse to give him the reigns properly. Last years reg season doesn't even count not one week did he prepare as the starter 100%. In the last 2 off seasons with no focus on him to be developed he has improved and arguably played the best out of all the QBs on the roster both training camps. Imagine where he would be if the Jets invested in him.

Petty was super raw from the offense he came from. He is in year 3 so lets give him a shot.

Speaking of McCown's throws, he throws balloons out there. Very slow delivery

I literally saw enough yesterday to say lets go to Petty give him 5 -6 games and if he is not improving... Throw hack to the wolves for the last 7-9 games.

It all starts up front, Sir. Long before the QB comes into play the OL MUST win up front. I do not debate the Jets skill players are terrible. No debate here. But once again football 101 tells you, you MUST win in the trenches. I doubt the Jets will win even once this season?

37 yards on the ground?? I'm sorry but that is far worse than merely shaky or something like that? That is horrid. Especially when you consider every Jets OL knew it was coming....

Like I said you have your paradigm and I have mine.. A lot of what goes on for most Offenses in the NFL is cause and effect... Sure you get a dominate OL like the Cowboys have and it can dictate a lot. But I believe mediocre OL's get a lot more credit then they should because the QB behind them makes them better. That happens more often then not.. Good to great QB's Changes the whole scheme a D puts forth. The difference yesterday was Tyrod Taylor. For all the running the Bills did with McCoy. A QB making plays on 3rd down was the difference. He got out of sacks on 3rd down at least 5 times. The Jets DL was winning the battles om 3rd downs and passing situations. Drives should ahve been stopped but the QB play made the difference. If QB's were swapped. Jets win that game. Regardless of OL.... Now with that said yes it's starts in the trenches, I agree 100%.. BUt if you get a QB that makes plays in critical situations it makes a huge difference in how the D attacks the LOS and it makes the OL breathe a little easier, make running a littel easier. It's symbiotic, it's a cause and effect. But Yes I would love a dominant OL to help make the QB play easier. Bottom line is if you don't have a QB you don't have much in this NFL...our focus this offseason is get the QB and build the line around him.
