2015 Jets can make the playoffs if the QB doesn't blow it

How about taking action? You are simply enabling this guy who is battling everyone with his enflamed posts and unintelligible jibberish. Most of us are having civil conversation but this guy has locked horns with myself, jets82 and 55 all this weekend alone. Placing your head in the sand will not improve the environment.

Have we gotten better? Definitely.

Have two other teams in our division gotten better? I don't see how we could deny it.

Like it or not, we were bottom feeders last year. We needed to get better just to catch up to them, so if they also improved there's a good chance we're still behind.

To me it all comes down to coaching. If we can get a leg up there it will make a WORLD of difference in the outcome of the season.

If we can't, then we'll likely improve in record, but not in standing . . .

Miami clearly improved but has a lame duck HC on a one year playoffs or fired trial

New England has a 38+ year old QB and lost Wilfork, Revis, Browner and Vereen so far

Buffalo has no first round pick and got worse with Cassell for Orton, and much worse with WRECKS and his seven coaching dwarfs in for Marrone and Schwartz

We have improved coaching plus have fixed the wide receiver, defensive back and possibly even the game manager QB crises we started the offseason with. And we have an excellent chance of adding additional playmakers at 6 and 37

Call me a blind homer but I'm optimistic that the Jets are at least back in the division competition for the first time since 2010

I agree and my fault for even entertaining the ignorance. Everyone here has there own opinions obviously and whether right or wrong, there just opinions. Were all fans, not God or even NFL players, coaches, GMs or owners. So none of us have any insight to who will be what, who will improve, who has a chance and who doesn't and who can turn things around and who can't. Were all die-hard Jets fans here (I hope) and want the best the for our team (I hope). Like this site or any other site, our conversations should be civil and make since about our beloved team and nothing more. Plunkett was a GREAT College QB at Stanford, I believe he won the Heisman trophy, and he was considered an elite QB prospect, a can't miss, but the Patriots had a terrible O-line outside of John Hannah and Plunkett took a terrible beating, which nearly destroyed him physically and mentally, but the Raiders wisely snatched him up and gave him a chance to sit for about a year, and he slowly got healthy and regained his confidence, then finally lived up to his potential and did the things people expected from him when he was in college.

Don't think draft order is particularly important. But yes, the team a QB winds up on is important. And what I am saying is that perhaps Fitz's failures so far are due to the teams he has been on, and there is a chance he will be able to flower with the Jets. At least I plan to enter next season being hopeful even if our QB composition remains as it currently is.

Agreed, the Heisman means nothing to the NFL because the college game is so much different than the pro game for QB's, or at least it used to be, now its getting a little closer with more teams running some variation of the read option to accommodate the more athletic QB's, but generally speaking you are right, the Heisman for QB's is a poor indicator for professional success.

Nope. When it comes to QB's who won the Heisman, if the name isn't "Staubach" or "Plunkett" you know for sure there are no SB wins. But if you want to dig back before there was a SB, one other Heisman QB did win an NFL title, and that's Paul Hornung. So only 3 NFL champion QB's in history also won the Heisman. That's one reason I hope the Jets steer clear of the two available this year.
