Just a question. Mendoza vs Moore.
Who would you select if both were available? Hopefully you answer before tomorrow nights game otherwise the winner will get a skewed percentage of votes based on one game.

I know it's not for me, but the Answer is Mendoza all day long and twice on Sunday.
He is the goods.
As We All Know, from bitter experience Mendoza just needs a competent Coach.
We don't have that here so Im kinda glad the Kid is going elsewhere.
At least he will have a realistic shot.
If the Jets drafted him with Glenn as the Coach?
He'd be screwed.

You're missing what Im saying.
The intangibles this kid brings.
You can't Coach Will or Desire either.
Maybe this kids physical limitations are not all you should see.
Hell Im not saying draft this particular Kid
Im saying his dedication, focus and leadership and exuberance are what is needed to change the "culture".
In other words, stop drafting guys who just want to get paid and don't love what they do.

So draft "guys that love football" ....

I do get what you're saying and I'm not in disagreement with you. I just can't look past his limitations when discussing him in a Draft watch post. Had he had success over his 5 years I might feel differently. He has been up and down, looking amazing and then like a back up. He would never have even seen the field if not for injury. I applaud the kid. It's a great story but I think if he goes to the NFL this year, that story has a tragic ending. He needs to go back for another year but even then he may not be a viable NFL QB. Let's face it, most college QBs are not. That's why I asked the question about Mendoza vs Moore and hoped for answers before the game tonight. Their whole body of work needs to be evaluated not a game or 3.....

It was for everyone, you very much included.I value your opinion and enjoy your posts. I apologize if I have come off as argumentative. I'm going through some medical issues and hope I have not been offensive to you or anyone here. If I have been I apologize. It's honestly not my intention.
I agree fully regarding Mendoza. Hopefully others will offer their opinions.
I do disagree that he would be a failure here. The season was a massive disappointment but the little talent on the roster was shelved and the other guys were evaluated. The cap was cleared, draft capital was stacked and the team is in position to really give a young QB a good roster around him. Let's be honest. Every first, second,third round pick is going to a bad team. The Raiders are worse than the Jets. A good QB would have had a good year on this team this season. There were open receivers on most plays but we didn't have a QB who could get them the ball, hell most plays the QB never even saw the open man. Talent will make a coach look great and lack of talent will do the exact opposite. I'm not going to condem Glen on one season with the least talented roster in the league. The D was beyond bad but I didn't expect more from them. No pass rush, no safety's bad linebackers and below average CBs were going to lead to a very bad defense. I did hope Fields would turn the corner and have a career year but unfortunately that lasted 1 game.

Are you sure he wasn't just putting the ball up so his guy could run under it? Beck is one of the two guys who could probably start on Day One. I've heard that Moore might be something special with two years of development, but I don't think Glenn has that long.

The biggest factors in development of a QB would be Engstrand and the QB coach. All Glenn can do is play him prematurely, and we know what the pressure to do that will be like.

That would be awesome and is needed no matter who we draft. I just don't see why anyone would want to coach or play for the franchise. This staff is terrible at every level and needs better coaches.

Mendoza. I think he's sometimes a little immature but a swift kick in the butt should take care of that.

Not necessarily. I am getting reports that there will be a couple changes in the offense coach room this off season with one of the changes being a new QB coach. So..........there is a chance that he would succeed.

They would have to make Daboll an assistant HC in charge of Offense at least.
I wouldn't mind but it might make problems in the locker room if they retain Glenn.
You bring in any former HC and it could do that though.
I just don't see Glenn's performance this Season meriting him another chance.
