I mostly agree with you here. Rogers was one of the best, but, I also remember watching him in training camp when he was still healthy. He still looked great. He was making all the throws and I mean all the throws. I would like to see him healthy before I give up on him. BUT, you are correct that age increases injury probability and mostly makes recovery much more difficult. We knew at the onset that Rogers was going to need a reliable "O" line to flourish. He didn't really get that which is why he got hurt. I also agree that Tyrod would better deal with the inadequacies of this "O" line than Rogers, but, not for long. I'm not advocating that Rogers is the answer for this team. I think his time as an effective starter in this league is near it's end. I also think that if healthy he might survive another season and hopefully groom his replacement. I'm going to just watch and see what unfolds and hope that whatever Woody does turns out to be the right thing. It's all I can do. Jets games lately have been very painful to watch so I just head to the woods and check the final score when I get back to the house.
People forget that his impact season was supposed to be LAST year. He looked good in training camp and preseason and then tore his Achilles in four plays. I really thought that this year we would have a good O-line and rushing attack and Rodgers would have time to throw the occasional deep ball. Nobody thought he would be back for a third season, as Bigmoe is lobbying for earlier. Sure if we run Rodgers back with Rex as coach it will sell tickets to the gullible and gain more primetime slots, which is all Woody asks, but we will all be watching the wheels coming off the clown car again.

Sam Darnell’s is absolutely killing it for the Vikings. They are 9-2 and he is definitely doing his part in making that happen. They are not just carrying him. He is actually balling out and having a very decent season. I’d say above average play isn’t a far stretch at all to say for him this year.

Wonder if the Jets would have given him that 4th year and build around him correctly in the draft, etc.. would that have made a difference? Just goes to show that sometimes little patience goes along way. I’m also very curious as to what Minnesota is going to do next year when their 1st round rookie returns? What a fortunate dilemma to have!

Me too. I guess we both got fooled. He did look good in camp this season too, as I mentioned, so I has hopeful the "O" line additions would allow last seasons expectations to manifest this season. Of course as fate would have it our "O" line failed miserably and he got hurt again, not once, but twice. Neither injury was season ending but he was allowed to play when he really shouldn't have been which only served to aggravate the injuries. He should have been forced to sit out a few games at least. I'm sure playing through the injury was mostly his idea but none the less it was the wrong decision I believe. I don't see any QBs in the next draft so far that excite me and we don't know yet what we have in Jordan Travis. Based on that I'm hoping that Rogers will carry the team through another and much better season. Talk about uncertainty, there's lots of that at QB and the "O" line in general. It's difficult to stay optimistic and I'm not getting any younger.

You know I wish we had kept him, but I'm happy for him that he doesn't have to play for the Jets.

I get that and I wanted them to either give Darnold that 4th year to prove himself and build around him or draft Justin Fields. Obviously they choice the wrong way to go but at this point, keeping Zach Wilson would have been better than trading for Rodgers. Lol

Coach Ulbrich says Rodgers will be the QB at Miami as 'he gives us the best chance to win'. On a brighter note, if Trevor Lawrence takes a few more shots to the head like he did against Houston, he should be ready to come to the Jets.

Rodgers has refused to get scans and see the team Dr's. Still following in Faves footsteps.
Dick pics to follow....

such a conundrum...the $49m makes it so. I'm refraining from overreaction about Rodgers. Here is where I am at - his numbers are STILL useful if the 2023 Jets D was playing. It took Zach parts of 3 seasons to reach 23 TDs.....Rodgers is sitting at a 19/8 split right now. The big failing this year was the steep decline of the D asked too much of Rodgers. All we needed was a guy to throw some TD passes, move the chains, and protect the ball a bit. With a new regime coming in 2025 - and IF...IF they determine Rodgers can still play better than a journeyman/rookie........AND he takes a pay cut.........I might consider playing him.

Now hear me out- some things would have to change....a new OC that Rodgers has to adapt to.....improved OL....think of Elway his last 2 years. The running game became the focus and Elway wasn't asked to carry the team. The whole team mindset would have to be Rodgers accepting he can't run it like he did...he needs help/support. He is still useful if he accepts change.

That all said, there are red flags that Rodgers may not be able to change his stripes........we saw this with Vinny in last years and others over time.......the older QBs don't like the hits. Rodgers and the go route seem to be a guy looking to avoid contact calling his old playbook. Leonard Williams THANKFULLY said it after the game....and you have to imagine it's being said elsewhere.....Rodgers is avoiding contact and it's compromising the timing he has so long lived on. Can that change? Can a new coach infuse new blood into him? That is the ultimate question. It all starts though with Rodgers accepting he is not carrying anyone and needs to take a PAY CUT.

..beyond that, the rest of the roster is too talented to just punt on 25'...can't tear it down but need help still and a cheaper Rodgers cap hit is crucial.

Easier to just cut and move on.

Running it back with Rodgers is taking a punt on 25. He is averaging 5.1 yards per play. Lots of YAC padding his stats. Short or screen passes limit int's.
Let the new regime pick their QB. Probably Tyrod for the year. Rodgers gets that money either way. He's washed and a cancer... JD and Saleh were right in wanting Carr. Woody wanted the big name to sell tickets.

Yet he didn't accept the blame. He let Saleh and Douglas take the fall for his insistence. Rogers was not the QB Douglas wanted, both for performance issues and financial issues. That fact was pretty well known before the deal got done.

AR is giving us all an early X-mas gift Jet Bros! Seems our Surly QB has made a behind the scenes Documentary for Netflix! It's called Enigma. The Documentary chronicles our heroes rehab from that career ending injury. Yes it was career ending, everyone but the coaching staff knows the truth.
Hang them up AR.
Keep your dignity.
On Edit: No, I will not be watching this doc because who wants to see Rodgers stoned out of his mind? He will be literally Tripping the light fantastik in this one.
No thanks, I'll pass.
