Amari Cooper or Shane Ray?

Im going against my philosophy saying get the edge rusher now..and there will be plenty of WR in second..but I think hes too good too pass up.... especially after seeing what chan gailey's offense is all about....alot of YAC
Like Baldinger from NFL network said..the Jets are going to have a good defense no matter what..might make it more special..but another weapon like him could help the cause more than the edge guy if hes that good..especially in space...

In this draft..stranger things can happen but I wouldnt mind trading w the Giants to 9 in this case..they might want an edge rusher and there is a real shot Cooper would make 9 then.. Bears and Falcons both want defense unless someone jumps to them..
Shane Ray is not even in my top 4 OLB. Cooper has been my choice for months.

Cooper isn't valuable enough in a draft with potentially 8 WRs carrying Rd 1 grades and Ray isn't even IN Rd 1 grade range, in HYATT™'s opinion.
Yer Rd 1 pick should be a starter, Cooper qualifies, but yer HIGH Rd 1 pick should also be used to sniff out a guy at a position that does not have depth and can't be solidified in later rounds.
Cooper can be interchanged with half a dozen other WRs in this draft.
He may carry a SLIGHTLY better grade, but he is not clearly head & tails above other WRs like Kevin White, DG-B, Perriman, Strong, or Parker.
All 6 of those WRs will probably go off the board somewhere in Rd 1, but half will still be there by pick #15, which the Jets could trade back into and pick up either an additional 2016 Rd 1 pick or a high 2015 Rd 2 pick - both of which are worth far more than Cooper alone will be.
(Starting DL is extremely weak in this draft, so teams WILL give up some ransom to move up and get a starting DT/DE.)
LBs, on the other hand, are not deep in this draft, so a starting pass rushing 3-4 OLB will carry a premium - a premium that requires a #6 pick, even if the player is overdrafted a bit, due to the alignment of teams picking near the Jets.

I'm seeing more and more consistent opinion that this is a six man draft at the top.
Winston, Mariota, Williams, Cooper, White and Fowler. I'd put Beasley next. In no scenario do I see Ray as a viable pick for the Jets.
If you made this Cooper vs. Beasley, I think it would be a more realistic and closer poll.

Amari Cooper .... I know an edge rusher is always of great value , ... but to many are boom or bust.
I understand what you're saying, but I REALLY hope this isn't the FO's philosophy.
IMO the "boom" a pass rusher can potentially bring outweighs the "bust" he can potentially be. If they feel their choice is between an elite WR or an elite pass rusher, I'm praying for the latter EVERY time . . .
And it looks like I was right. Neck and neck. To me it's like picking between Kate Upton or Bar Rafaeli. My answer changes daily but ultimately, there's no wrong answer.

To the thread, it's Amari Cooper without a doubt. Better player, much better value, and much safer pick.
It's funny you use that analogy. While I obviously acknowledge both women are beautiful, I'd pick Upton 10 out of 10 times.
Cooper will likely be great, and I'd have no problem drafting him. But if Beasley is on the board, I'm rooting HARD that we take him (and just as hard that we not take Ray).
These late risers like Ray really scare me. Flashback to Vernon Gholston. Williams & Cooper are the 2 safest picks.

If we draft Shane Ray who is a true DE, I'm wondering if we trade Big Mo and his huge salary demands ?
