Not a bad thought.............if everyone stays healthy and improves we won't have a lot of needs but down the road when we lose someone for whatever reasons it would be beneficial to be in a position to trade picks for or draft replacements.
Next year’s draft will be focused on building depth across this roster. Isn’t amazing we’re saying that? You look across the roster and tell me where there’s weakness? Depth is huge for when injuries inevitably happen. I could see a LB drafted high with Mosley and Alexander getting up there in age.
I’m staying put, too. I predicted the same range as you for wins. I know everyone is high as a kite right now over the current situation (no, not Haight Ashbury high), but there’s too much uncertainty over the course of an entire season. I need to see us play NE and Buffalo once before I start making bold proclamations about the playoffs.

That's the thing. I am concerned about how high everyone is getting on them right now. They are still a young team. They are going to lose games. They will lose games ugly. They may even lose games they should win.
I don't want to move the goalposts, start talking about how great they are, and then yell and scream about Same Ol' Jets after they have a bad loss. Bad losses happen, just like great wins do.
everyone but the jets themselves is fine by me.. if not, what are we even talking about here?!
if they truly have a good thing going the outside noise means almost nothing..

that said at 5-2 you can not want the goalposts moved as much as you like.. at that point they will have been moved almost universally regardless.. rightfully so in my book..

It’s the knee jerk reaction we’ve seen so many times. The Jets win three in a row, and we’re going to the playoffs baby! We lose a few games to mediocre teams, and everyone needs to be fired. Cut the QB, fire the HC and GM.
The season is peaks and valleys. There’s going to be some ugliness folks. We’re not a finished product. This team has a few impressive wins left in them. And unfortunately probably a few bad losses, too. That’s life in the NFL as a team that isn’t elite (yet).

When they’re good they deserve praise, when they stink they deserve to be told so. That’s what sports and fandom is all about. I’m sure we’d all like to be out there doing what they do, making what they make$, but we just get to watch and either cheer or complain.

Well said. That's why I predicted 10 or more instead of 14 or more. This team is still gelling so we shouldn't get our hopes too high. It's a process. I think most of the remaining games are winnable for them but there are some that are going to be tough as well. But..........you are not going to see me calling for the firing of JD or any of the coaches if it doesn't go as well as I predicted. I'm happy with this staff and the direction that they are leading this team.

Yeah I agree! I didn’t see the Jets going 4-5 by their bye week. Especially when Zach went down. Now with him back and the way their playing, they can definitely go 6-3 (minus winning that Bills game). Then again they could win that one too or lose three straight and actually be 4-5 at the bye. Hopefully not!
The season is still very long and nothing is determined yet. They playing extremely well right now and bumps in the road will come. We all need the be patient and understanding and realize they are not the Bills or Chiefs. NOT YET anyway! If Zach can get better as he appears to be progressing, they can possibly be even better. Time will tell!

Wow, did you predict 10 wins before the season started and over the past week or 2? Just curious because I didn’t see this coming at all. I said 7 to 9 wins at most. Probably more around 7-8 wins at most. With the way their playing now, if this keeps up, WHO KNOWS!!!
Love your spirit! I wasn’t that enthused at the beginning of the season and felt even worse when Zach went down. Now it definitely seems that the Jets can be a very valuable team throughout this entire season.
