The decision is a slap in the face to the NFL plus each and every one of us who spend our money, time and emotions thereon.

With or without Brady, I still believe this team is built for us to contend with them. We are infinitely better in all facets of game (On paper) except for one position. Unfortunately, that one position is the most important one.

NFL should appeal - no downside - they have strong general arguments based on respect for negotiated CBA - I need to read the decision, but I assume it focuses on procedural arguments

I've decided to solve this problem as far as me is concerned. This will be my last season as a STH of the Jets (after more than 40.

Finding a buyer for the PSLs shouldn't be difficult and, with the current team and especially the replacement at QB,.values should go up from the 70-75 percent they are currently selling at.

Buy tickets for 3 cherry picked games on stubhub, fewer schleps to NJ and no money pissed away on preseason crap (see tonight) makes perfect sense for me

Apparently the decision is primarily based on the league's failure to notify Brady of the potential penalties for his part in the deflation scheme. But the ruling is completely silent on his obstruction of the investigation and his destruction of evidence. It is also silent on the CBA stating that the commissioner decides cases of conduct detrimental to the game. Plenty of grounds for appeal, I would think.

Too early to give up hope on the basis of one idiot judge's ruling. At least wait until the appeals process plays out. After all, what if Brady has to sit out 4 games at some critical point in the season?

Don't really care, the draft picks are the real punishment. And if they fail to continue to not fumble the ball at an historic rate, they'll be exposed

Berman: "The Court finds that Commissioner Goodell's denial of Brady's motion to compel the testimony of Mr. Pash was fundamentally unfair."

But what would the appeal do in this case? Wasn't the hearing about whether or not Goodell executed his power fairly?

Exactly. A lawyer in a black robe with his own personal convictions overruled the CBA.

I really hope they appeal and win.

My decision has much more than this hideous biased decision. It's been awhile in the making and more about spending 4500 bucks a year for just 8 football games.

NFLPA statement.

STATEMENT ON VICTORY IN BRADY CASE

The rights of Tom Brady and of all NFL players under the collective bargaining agreement were affirmed today by a Federal Judge in a court of the NFL’s choosing. We thank Judge Berman for his time, careful consideration of the issue and fair and just result.

This decision should prove, once and for all, that our Collective Bargaining Agreement does not grant this Commissioner the authority to be unfair, arbitrary and misleading. While the CBA grants the person who occupies the position of Commissioner the ability to judiciously and fairly exercise the designated power of that position, the union did not agree to attempts to unfairly, illegally exercise that power, contrary to what the NFL has repeatedly and wrongfully claimed.

We are happy for the victory of the rule of law for our players and our fans. This court’s decision to overturn the NFL Commissioner again should signal to every NFL owner that collective bargaining is better than legal losses. Collective bargaining is a much better process that will lead to far better results.

Doesn't matter either way. Now when the Pats are getting their asses handed to them this year, there wont be any excuses of Brady wasn't there and the team distractions etc-etc. So it is what it is!

.

"With respect to 'general awareness' of others' misconduct -- which is the principal finding in both the Wells Report and the Vincent Letter -- Brady had no notice that such conduct was prohibited, or any reasonable certainty of potential discipline stemming from such conduct," Berman wrote in his decision. ..."The court concludes that, as a matter of law, no NFL policy or precedent notifies players that they may be disciplined (much less suspended) for general awareness of misconduct by others."
.

Brady's attorney, Don Yee, called the outcome of the report pre-determined and blamed the NFL for its lack of standards or protocols in handling footballs prior to games.
