Brandon Spikes involved in hit and run?

I understand the reason, and while I would argue Belichick doesn't bat a thousand, nobody does, so I don't believe his decisions should automatically be assumed right, but I agree that you can't argue with the results, not the results of each particular decision in a vacuum, but the overall results (i.e. championships).

That said, the Yankees have won nine championships in my lifetime, NINE, in my lifetime, and there's still plenty of decisions they make that I won't even hesitate to criticize or call stupid. The fact that Patriots fans believe the overall success makes Belichick impervious to criticism on his day to day decision, again speaks to the almost cult-like atmosphere that surrounds this team and their fanbase, especially the fanbase (Patsie Homerville). And I still say invoking "IN GOD WE TRUST" to praise a football coach, and an obviously flawed man, is weird. And no matter how you spin it, we all know "IN BILL WE TRUST" is derived from "IN GOD WE TRUST", its clearly a wordplay on the phrase we all see on U.S. Currency.

Your perception is severely flawed if you think Patriots fans don't question some of his moves, we do. Some Pats fans are still incensed that he didn't match the offer for Revis, as well as other off season moves that are questioned, and rightly so to be questioned in my opinion. However when you've had the kind of success the Patriots have had for the last decade plus, you're more easily able to have some comfort that you've seen this work out before. That's far different from the perception you seem to have that Pats fans believe B.B. is infallible.

I think that the reason so many Pats fans are cult like about BB is because they have known nothing but success. I would estimate at least 80% of the current fanbase appeared on the scene at the start of the Brady and BB era....the lean times in the 70's, 80's and 90's never existed in their minds.

My Grandfather used to take us up to NE in the 80's and 90's to see the games because we couldn't get seats at Giants Stadium, in NE, they were giving away the tickets at grocery stores some games.

Their fanbase is filled with low knowledge fans, who like the team because they win, or Tom Brady is cute along paired along with a bunch of faux Irishmen who pretend they're friends with someone in the IRA and cheer anything from Boston. They cheer the hardest for whatever team is winning at that moment. Right now the Bosox suck, so they'll jump on The Patsie wagon until that goes sour.

I have never seen a team with so many front runner fans since the 49ers of the 80's or the Cowboys of the early 90s.

Half the Pats fans out there likely couldn't name more than 5 members of the current team.

There is a tremendous amount of truth to this. The Patriots came into existence in 2001, according to most of the fan base.

Hobson, let me just say that they are better and worse in different places on the roster, like most teams. Also there's a great deal of variable factors that are unpredictable, such as some players being counted on for certain roles that wont produce and other players that much isn't expected that will produce. The one thing that is certain is the Pats coaching staff will have the best of that team on the field wining and as much as you hate it, you know it's true, it's what they do best, adapt to their strengths and weaknesses. The Patriots do this arguably better than any team in the league year in year out. How many Jets fans where jumping up and down writing the Pats off after last years slow start? SG3 had to change his shorts 6 times a day, I hear he almost changed his name to SG6 slippery. Now as to the question of if they are a better team than last year, that's very subjective concept, they could just as easily have a less talented roster and better team. I tend to think many football fans look at individual player talent in a vacuum and fool themselves into believing that this is a video game and the team with the higher player ratings always win, it isn't and it doesn't.

yep it's called cheating

I believe it was a bit earlier dating precisely to the moment that the First Savior of Patriot Football Bill Parcells became the HC.

For the 30+ years prior to that the Patriots were the asshole of the AFL and then the NFL consistently at the bottom of the standings and playing their home games in rickety old dumps like the former Braves Field (now BUs Nickerson field, Fenway and Sullivan/Shaeffer Stadium with HS style steel benches.

Boston frontrunner fans ignored the team spending the time between Saux baseball and Broons and Septics at the Gahden watching college football and going duckpin and candlepin bowling

Things were so bad that the NFL was brokering a deal to abandon Boston and move the bedraggled, unwanted and fan less franchise to St. Louis.

Parcells saved the area from losing the team. The bandwagon fans jumped aboard and then broke their ankles jumping on again when the Second Savior of Patriot Football Walt Coleman screwed the Raiders by making the single worst call in NFL History in the snow in Sucksboro

You chime in on threads without anyone mentioning you, and go after other posters. You've attacked me in threads where I haven't even mentioned you. Same thing with several other posters. You've even done it here in this thread.

Sorry, but you know exactly what you are doing, and have turned this into a game, seeing how much you can get away with because we have been far too tolerant with you.

Sorry Sack but your response was directly aimed at me and my response to Hobson's question. If anyone is playing a game it's you because you only want pom pom waiving Jets fans here. Countless threads you've attacked me if I say or even infer anything negative about the Jets. Like wise you don't have anything to say when I make a pro Jet comment do you? You can't stand it that a Patriots fan should be allowed to voice a negative opinion about your team, that's a fact and any fair minded person can see it.

It seems you are ignoring the fact that those here who defended you at first have started to call you out for the troll you are. You had defenders here in the beginning. Then you just kept pushing your trolling.

You're as wrong about this as you are about the OTAs.

Why wouldn't Pats fans go by that? Honestly? Do you know how many teams have one more games than the Pats since 2000? None! Do you know how many teams more division titles in that time? None! Do you know how many teams won more playoff games in that time? None! How many teams won more AFC Championship games? None! Super Bowls? None! All while good and great players came and went, so again I'll ask you, why wouldn't Pats fans adhere to that Motto? It's been proven to be valid far more than your Jets new management.

With all due respect, but after reading this post, the first thing that came to my mind was: How many more teams have been caught cheating during that time? Answer: NONE.

Really? None? Atlanta just got caught for pumping in fake crowd noise for the last three years? The Browns just got caught for heating balls on the sidelines to help their kickers in cold weather games? And that's just two of a half dozen so called "cheating" violations this year alone. Where's the "Noise gate" scandal? Where's the "Heating gate" scandal? Oh but those teams don't win all the time and help make the Jets look like the Laughing stock of the league year in year out, so those don't matter right? You know, that's just fine because you know what, a pound of air pressure in football more or less won't change the fact that the Jets are the Jets and the Pats are the Pats. So enjoy the offseason, it's your best time of year, in your heart of hearts, you know what happens when the ball is kicked off in September. :smiley-violent036:

Plenty of teams have been caught cheating. Just this year, the Jets got hit for tampering. And they had the Sal Alosi tripping incident. The Falcons with the crowd noise, the Browns with the texting.

No team has a culture of cheating like the Patriots. Scandal after scandal emerges about them. And no other team has both the audacity and the immaturity to refuse to accept responsibility for anything they do.

Woody apologized for his comments. “I misspoke today when I commented on Darrelle Revis. I would never interfere in the contractual relationship of a player with another team and should not have used those words. I called Robert Kraft this afternoon to emphasize those points.”

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/12/29/woody-johnson-says-he-misspoke-when-he-tampered-with-revis/

Arthur Blank said of the noise situation, "I think what we've done in 2013 and 2014 was wrong. Anything that affects the competitive balance and fairness on the field, we're opposed to, as a league, as a club and as an owner. It's obviously embarrassing but beyond embarrassing it doesn't represent our culture and what we're about."

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000467986/article/blank-comments-on-investigation-of-fake-crowd-noise-in-atlanta

Ray Farmer said after the texting incident, "I would like to first extend an apology to the Cleveland Brown fans. I know there's gonna be a lot of questions, a lot of inquiry about texting and Text Gate or whatever the new term is. So everybody hears it from my mouth: It was me. To that degree, I have apologized to the people in the building -- coach Pettine, (owner) Jimmy Haslam, the rest of the football staff and everybody that was involved from our side as far as football-wise that they understand what happened."

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000471895/article/ray-farmer-apologizes-for-texting-scandal-it-was-me

The Patriots, on the other hand, refuse to acknowledge when they do something. Instead, they find the nearest microphone, shout about how the league is out to get them and they are owed an apology, and then do verbal gymnastics to try to explain how their cheating isn't really cheating. And their fan base follows along lockstep.

Pretty much every team runs afoul of the league rules from time to time. One team does it on a fairly constant basis, and that same team refuses to man up and be mature when they do so and get caught.

Actually we are having a great offseason and your filthy cheating Shitriots may have had the worst one of all 32 NFL teams

Lost Cheating Tammi for 4 plus Revis, Browner, Wilfork, Arrington, Ridley, Vereen and others plus drafting a UDFA in round 2 and a long snapper in round 5

Gonna be a long long season in half empty Sucksboro with the wicked stupid frontrunners like garbage14 abandoning the Cheats in favor of Saux hot stove action

Gonna be tough for the retahded chowdahheads with the Saux. Broons and Septics all stinking and the Cheats battling the Bills for third place

That's exactly why grogan hasn't responded to it. Just like in the Pats are in trouble thread, he didn't respond when I pointed out that he was factually 100% wrong about OTAs.

There is no snarky response for this that will suffice, because the truth has a way of cutting thru all the BS.

AND THAT, Grogan, is why so many people outside of Patsie Homerville DESPISE the Patriots and their fans.

You guys can keep telling yourselves its jealously and envy, but THIS ^ is the real reason.
