no one is a total loss...……….well except for Tebow
The approach that has made the Jets irrelevant for the past few years.
you said "use a high pick on o-line"
the criticism he didn't do enough to address the oline is valid. he did add 2 potential starters and a top blocking TE/h-back this off-season though.
but when people criticize not using a 1st round pick on o-line, they need to look at each of the drafts and see that there just weren't o-lineman available when the jets picked that wouldn't have been big reaches at the time.
Macc was trying to trade up for OT Laremy Tunsill in the year we drafted LBer Darron Lee. My understanding is Macc offered a #1 and a #4 but Miami wanted our 2nd instead of our #4. Thank God Macc didn't make that trade. If he did we would have lost out on the Hackenberg sweep stakes.
All the noise aside regarding what a “dumpster fire” we supposedly are (Mike Golic, ESPN), here’s the big question:
Would you rather see the Jets have problems between Gase and Maccagnan all season long before an eventual firing, or just do it now and get Gase’s guy in there now? It’s clear Gase is only going to thrive with his type of GM.
No matter what the fans or media say this doesn’t affect the season one bit. The roster is mostly in place and now maybe Gase will get his guys with Mac out of the way. I’m positive players don’t care that Mac was fired.
You are absolutely correct. Football arguments aside, this is also the logical situation that will happen in any corporation where the top two people don't get along, and where you absolutely can't fire the one you've literally just hired.
Well you made a good case for Gase because we all know that big mac lost face in the Jets place. & even with that we may end up in last place......OHHHH what a disgrace.
I wouldn't mind that at all if his track-record in the draft suggested it was paying dividends on the field..... as well as his habit of sequestering himself in his office and not communicating/interacting with other staff.
it was the same story with coach bowles & not just here, BTW..When you actually look at his track record it is beyond me that people defended this idiot for years.
