Nobody wants Fitz. They never have. They all know last year was a product of Chan Gailey and two big target WR's. He will never duplicate his results anywhere but here if he can even do that again.
even if you're completely correct, all the more reason to re-sign fitzpatrick.. he should now be a bargain signing for us & he would still have gailey, marshall & decker to work with..
I agree but I wouldn't do it for much more than $6M per year for 2 years.
what about the numbers you're talking about with realistic incentives?? as in, if he can have another two to one TD to INT ratio with over 30 TD's again??
if i guy potentially gives us 60+ TD's in two seasons of work, doesn't he deserve to be properly compensated for it??
those numbers are too low for Fitz. He'll prob end up with $10million per year + incentives.
I'm fine with incentives but I think every contract should be completely incentive based. You would have a much better league if they earned their money.

i agree.. i'm just trying to find some common ground.. a two year deal with 10 million guaranteed + incentives seems fair to me for both sides.. that said, if team fitzpatrick turns their noses up at that, perhaps it would be time to tell them to kick rocks.....

Fitz doesn't fit any other team like he fits us. There are several reasons, but he also has more to offer us than rg3 or hoyer for example. I think he settles for between 7 and 10 and puts up 38tds16ints, afc championship team. I'm really big on a2nd year of this offense together, Powell starting to click and forte having a beast year.

i'm with you. It would be a damn shame if we can't come to an agreement with Fitz.
That's exactly what I'm saying. Fitz is barely an average QB. He is our best option because of the offense and its weapons not because Fitz is a great QB. We have no other options and fortunately neither does Fitz!!

I'm not so sure. Cap isn't agreeing to the Broncos restructuring of his contract so far. I'm also hearing that essentially the Broncos offer for Cap is 7 million per season. WAY below the league average for a veteran QB. More or less the same money Fitz is being offered from the Jets.
Now granted under any scenario Cap is still getting paid by the Niners in 2016 and that makes that 7 million he's getting from the Broncos just icing on the cake.
But I really am hoping this trade comes to fruition because it essentially means that Fitz potential suitors have officially dried up. It will be time for Fitz to sign with the NYJ because he will not have any more potential landing spots to use as leverage in negotiations with the Jets.

yes, it absolutely looks like the house has the far better hand now.. but what if the denver-SF deal falls apart?? would denver be willing to throw fitzpatrick the same kind of money we're offering?? & if so, would fitzpatrick leave out of spite at that point??
mac's played his hand very well.. no need to rub it in fitzpatrick's face.. the man did throw 31 TD's for us last season.. 2 years with 10 million or so guaranteed + incentives seems fair to me..
