as far back as the non competition competition, what has bowles done to indicate giving petty a fair shot to win the job??

as far as maccagnan is concerned, do we really know his feelings on petty & if he thinks he's ready to be the starter or not??

What we know is petty wasn't guaranteed to make the team after pre season, then he injured his shoulder and couldn't practice for 5 plus weeks.
So how do you assume a bubble player wroth a couple weeks of backup reps, is ready for the nfl. Behind a shit o line at that.

Mac drafted petty, mac wants to win, he wants petty to be the next Brady, why would he sabotage him? These guys want to win, petty hasn't shown them he's the guy to do it.

i don't know if petty is ready anymore than you know he's not..

& i'll bring up brady only because you did.. did NE's CS & FO know they were sitting on a future HOFer before bledsoe's injury forced their hand?? rhetorical question.. no way in hell they did..

BTW, there's an excellent chance the sun will still come up this sunday if petty's named the starter against LA.....

Everything we write is an assumption. You assume he isn't ready based on Bowles and Mac not putting him in earlier or now. I ssume Bowles and Mac don't want to give up on the season and feel like putting him in now will send that message to the locker room and deflate the team that still thinks they have a chance.... I Assume once they are out of it then we will see Petty, even though we all feel they are out of it now. I also assume Petty will do at the very worst what Fitz will do bare minimum; but expect a lot more.

They have NOT improved in any facet of the game ... they still blow assignments, they still commit stupid penalties, they still do not make in game or half time adjustments, need I say more? I am not kidding.... I am not saying this is what I think! So I think about this team and the situation.... I am giving my assumption as to why Bowles and Mac haven't moved onto Petty.. It's my assumption of what they are thinking... Absolutely doesn't represent what I think.

I personally think this team needs a kick in the ass. Players need to be benched like Mo and Sheldon were last week... Revis needs it and Fitz definitely needs it.... Revis needs to sit for a half or a whole game and lets see what that does to his motivation.. If nothing keep him there... Fitz absolutely needs to be benched the rest of the season.. He is what he is and he isn't reverting back to his performance from last year...

If Fitz chucking up that interception last week on 3rd and goal couldnt convince Todd Bowles that sticking with this numskull is a horrible decision, then its evident that Bowles and Ryan have something very in common on what Rex had with Mark.

none actually..

logically speaking, fitzpatrick & hackenberg were absolute locks to make the team..

the jets were going to carry 4 QB's or cut petty or smith or possibly both.. they kept both, so petty & or smith technically beat out another position/positions on the roster..
