If the situation was reversed and mack had zero interest in drafting any qb, the stories and posts would all be about how stubborn mac is and can't admit his mistake. Can't have it both ways, I expect a gm to keep his options open and do his due diligence.

I think Macc should take BPA, although a defensive lineman would be a tough sell with so many needs. And despite my support for bringing in different options at QB, eventually he's gotta hit on one. If neither Petty nor Hack amount to anything, that's not going to look very good for him. Bring in all the QB's you want, but find someone. He's probably got another few years to figure it out.

nope.. only half the avatar fits in the board's current format..

but yeah, i haven't been crazy about the direction of the show this season.. especially since negan is supposed to be (by far) the best villain in the comics..

crazy to think season is well on pace to be my least favorite..

This is probably all a bunch of BS. Mac, TB and whomever else playing games to throw everyone off or see who's willing to bite to trade up and take the #6 spot. If this is true, Hack most truly suck and so does Petty. I mean damn, they drafted Hack just last year in the 2nd round. Besides the fact of that, if this is true they must think this kid Watson is truly special.

I would have liked to have seen Hack play a few games atleast before they drafted a QB at #6. I figured they would draft a QB this year regardless but at #6, wow!!! All I can say is, if Watson is truly that special then hell yes draft him please. We're talking about the Jets drafting here and a QB at that. That ain't a good draft tracking record at all and this scares the hell out of me.

IMO, taking a QB is something you must consider at 6? I understand your point and your frustrations with Mac taking QB's the last two seasons. I cannot say I like the idea that Hack never even took a single snap in the regular season? But what's done is done, Mac can only focus on the future now.

But if a Deshaun Watson or even say Mitch Trubisky somehow falls? That's a gamble you have to take as far as I am concerned. Let me ask you, are you ready to see Watson go a few picks later and become an instant hit for another team? I'm actually skeptical he'll amount on anything, but the potential for greatness is definitely there..........

I had the same reaction. It just shows to me that Mac has no idea what he's doing. He's just selecting a QB each year.

if maccagnan is nuts about one of the top QBs in the draft take him at 6 or even trade up to get your guy.. it's pretty much impossible to overpay for your 10+ year starter.. i get that..

but i'm of the opinion that maccagnan can't indefinitely swing & miss on 1st & 2nd round QBs.. this can't become an annual thing..

If the Redskins don't want him then why would the Jets? If he is a franchise QB then he won't be let go. Cousins is better than what the Jets have, but he seems really unstable and with those weapons that offense never took off consistently.

Cousins is better than what the Jets and many many other teams also have.
Why single out Cousins then?
11 of those QBs are on teams that will let them go. If they go with your assumption why would the Jets want any of them?

Gotta agree with you; it would make Mac look like a clown if he takes another QB before the 5th or 6th and he misses. It will end his career, he has to see if one of these two guys is the one.

There is one possible explanation to this. It is possible some in the Redskins' front office made up their minds about Cousins around the time they were very high on RG3, and that their prejudged notions have stuck. It's human nature. We see it on this board often, as posters (myself included) have a set idea of a player, either positive or negative, and it's very difficult for evidence to sway them from it.

Now, one would like to think that those in front offices are both more nuanced and more capable of adjusting than average fans are. But it is one possible explanation as to why Cousins could be a serious, legit answer, but he won't get his shot in Washington.

I'd put Taylor much lower. Cousins would be my first, and Glennon #2. From there, I'd move the kid from UNC up from #5 to #3, and probably have Watson at #4 ahead of Foles. After that, I'd look at the older veterans, starting with Romo and Smith, then kicking the tires on Taylor, and so on.

Does Kizer merit a spot on the list, in terms of the draft? He may be a late riser.
