Did they forgot to mention the Special Teams Coach?
I'd make a joke that instead of making a decision, they punted.
But they probably would have fumbled the snap.
Later
is karl Dunbar available?
This CS will not go down in NFL history in the same breath as Vince Lombardi and Bill Walsh.
he coaching Alabama Crimson Tide defensive line...
No reason to go back to the NFL when his college team could beat the Jets.
how about, "BowlesCan'tCoach??"hey are you going to change your name to Tebow & Hack can't throw lol
how about, "BowlesCan'tCoach??"
i appreciate you're honesty & enthusiasm..If he does not get better....yes I will LOL.....look I don't have him in the ring yet lol....But I know how could he can be......Lets all hope he gets there
Wow, I didn't know that. This is even worse than I thought. Along similar lines, why was former LB Pepper Johnson coaching the D line? I recall that Rex had a similar situation. I can't remember who it was, but I'm pretty sure that he had a defensive back coaching the D line. Dennis Thurman? What is wrong with these coaches? Do they have dentists do their knee surgeries?
johnson's been a career position coach.. i'm not sure if he's ever been on anyone's short list to even be a DC much less a HC..pepper johnson had a lot of experience coaching the d-line. some guy named bill belichick switched him from LB coach to d-line coach in 2004 and kept him there for 8 years.
i personally was very happy when the jets hired him to replace dunbar (although i would have happily kept dunbar but he chose to follow rex to buffalo). johnson had a very good reputation as a coach and was seen as a future head coach. now given the talent on the d-line and the performance of the unit, it's hard to argue with his dismissal. but he was one guy on the staff i was surprised didn't work out.

not saying your information is incorrect, BTW.. all i'm saying is he's apparently hit his ceiling & it was clearly time to cut ties with him here..

you raised some excellent points..Who in the heck is going to want to come here and coach with Bowles who's basically under a one year contract to perform, has a team that needs talent in a lot of places, has no clear path to a starting QB and has Brady/Bellichick in the same division. Anyone who's in demand would have this job very low on their list. We are going to have to most likely settle for second tier folks. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but Woody/Mac have boxed themselves in a corner with keeping Bowles.
almost nothing behind the scene's this past season would surprise me anymore..The one thing I did not consider was that the Rodgers/Bowles relationship became a source of frustration for Johnson. I'm guessing obviously, but perhaps PJ questioned KR's authority or knowledge thus creating a situation where the lack of unity among the coaches was reflected on the field.
& for what it's worth, as i'm quite sure you/all of us know, bowles is very well regarded by parcells..he interviewed with the giants to be DC before they hired spagnola. but maybe saying future HC was a little too optimistic as you are right he hadn't yet been a coordinator. but he was well regarded by belichick and had a very good d-line with the bills under marrone before rex went there and replaced him with dunbar. so at the time the jets hired him, he was very well regarded as a d-line coach.
