Honestly, if I'm McCoy or O'Brien I'm gonna need a good sales pitch to come to the Jets. Bowles is officially on the hot seat. He needs to improve this team next year (Macc, too). Petty and Hack are unknowns. It's a risky move going to a situation like ours. Maybe even a career killing move if the bottom falls out.
I'm expecting a bunch of no-names coming in and filling these coordinator spots.
The only enticing part about the Jets is Bowles will be fired next year probably and whoever the OC is can be the next head coach possibly.
why would the Jets have kept gailey in OC role if he said before the season that he was going to retire. We got young QBs learning a system that we KNOW we wont run for them in the future? a full season of lame duck?

I think if you are McCoy and O'Brien if available you look at the Jets offense... you see talented players in Powell, Enunwa, Anderson, Decker, Peake, J. Marshall a solid OL if they get a RT and think... Let's get the QB I WANT... and maybe O'Brien knows what to do with Hack, you go f this team is bad but I can turn the O around I will be front runner for HC of this team next year or if we become a winning team I will be in the running for the openings elsewhere easy.... Look at Anthony Lynn he went from RB Coach to OC to Interim HC to leading candidate for the Bills all in less than a year

Coaching changes or no, it doesn't matter. The NYJ are fucked. I have come to the conclusion that the entire FO should have been fired already. Mac is just as fucking incompetent as Toilet. I'm telling you right now this team is destined for 2-14 in 2017.

According to Alex Marvez of the Sporting News, the Jets are giving a two-year deal to Bears assistant Clint Hurtt to be their new outside linebackers coach.
He’ll replace Mark Collins, who was a part of last week’s shakeup which also saw defensive line coach Pepper Johnson and defensive backs coach Joe Danna shown the door.
The Bears blocked Hurtt from going to the Dolphins last year, but his contract expired and he was free to go this year.
Most of Hurtt’s experience has been at the college level, and was sanctioned by the NCAA for some recruiting shenanigans at Miami. He also coached at Louisville.

i wonder if there's any relationship with Bowles. What I want to see is a bunch of guys that will challenge Bowles and not just be yes men.

This will be Hurtt's second season with the team after spending 2014 as the Bears assistant defensive line coach.
In 2014, the Bears increased their sack total to 39, up from 31 a year prior to Hurtt's arrival. Thirty-five of the Bears 39 sacks (89.7 percent) came from defensive linemen in 2014 up from 21-of-31 (67.7) in 2013.
In 2014, under Hurtt's tutelage, defensive end Willie Young led the team with a career-high 10 sacks after totaling just six sacks in his previous four NFL seasons with Detroit. Young became just the second player to record double-digit sacks in his first year with the Bears since sacks became an official statistic in 1982. Jeremiah Ratliff finished tied for eighth among defensive tackles with 6.5 sacks, the second most for the 10-year NFL vet in single-season. Fellow DT Stephen Paea added a career-high six sacks. Ego Ferguson finished fourth among rookie defensive tackles with two sacks and added three pass break-ups.
Prior to joining the Bears in 2014, Hurtt spent 13 years in the collegiate coaching ranks. From 2010-13, he worked as Louisville's defensive line coach/recruiting coordinator. In 2013, Louisville's defense was tops in the nation in sacks (3.31 per game; 43 sacks in 13 games), total defense (251.5 yards per game), rushing defense (80.7 ypg), second in scoring defense (12.2 points per game), fifth in passing defense (170.8 yards per game) and sixth in tackles for losses with 7.8 per game (102 TFLs). Under Hurtt's tutelage in 2013, senior Marcus Smith led the nation in sacks (1.12 per game; 14.5 sacks) and junior Lorenzo Mauldin was tied for 25th with .73 sacks per game (9.5). Hurtt also worked with current Seahawks DE Greg Scruggs during his time with the Cardinal. Hurtt came to Louisville from Miami (Fla.), his alma mater, where he worked as the team's defensive line coach from 2006-09, adding the title of recruiting coordinator in 2007. It was his second stint at his alma mater after beginning his coaching career as a volunteer strength and conditioning coach from 2001-02 before working as a graduate assistant with the Hurricanes from 2003-04. During his time in Miami, Hurtt worked with Cardinals DE Calais Campbell and Chiefs DE Allen Bailey.
In between stints at Miami, Hurtt spent the 2005 season at Florida International University as the Golden Panthers defensive line coach. During the 2005 season, Hurtt helped move Antwan Barnes from linebacker to defensive end and finish the year with 9.5 sacks. Barnes would go on to be the first FIU player ever selected in the NFL Draft.
Hurtt was a three-year letterman at Miami (1997, 1999-2000) before his career ended prior to the 2001 season due to injury.

Mikey Mac, to be fair to Bowles ,has gotten him very little in Drafts except Williams. The 1st & 2nd round picks must be Starters to fill Positions. This means no project players of 3 years! LB Lee based on(speed) & QB Hankenburg based on(freshman year) was horrible & did absolutely NOTHING to help Bowles & Jets. Even then it put Jets in the very same position of needing a LB & QB going into this next season. Jets GM better get his cr@p together in Drafts this year & Bowles better be a hard @ss to these lazy millionaire BUMS with no heart to play for Jets or for themselves.
